We all talk about heroes, but the people who tolerate me on a daily basis.

THEY ARE THE HEROES.

The system has finally kicked in, albeit with a 4 month delay.
An Xray, 2 CT scans, 1 Ultrasound scan, an MRI scan, 5 blood tests and visits to 5 hospitals.
Decided that the NHS data base is filled up with my blood and internal photographs of my body.
First round of 12 weeks Chemo today.
Upped my tablet intake to 36 a day.
Was speaking to a chap at the centre I volunteer at and he reckons with the steroids, anti depressants and stimulants I take I can make a fortune stood at certain street corners in town.
From previous meds I took I challenge anybody to have longer arm hair than me, 3 inches long and growing. If I start dragging my hands on the floor I'm going to get worried.

They say that sex is a great form of exercise. Correct me if I am wrong but 2 minutes 15 seconds once every 3 months will not get rid of my beer belly.

That's because you have to fill the holes before you can tar spray.

Thanks for your replies.

Now go to the original post and substitute the word "Mycul" for "Guy".

To answer Fly. Yes I am pissed off but thankfully not pissed but it has been a struggle not to get bladdered.

To answer OC, Have made up my mind, am going to sue the pants off them. As I said any money will go to Macmillan, but I want to be sure that this situation won't happen again.

I am not asking for sympathy or platitudes, I have beaten cancer before I will beat it again.

Onwards and upwards.

PS may have to bring the summer meet forward and the guy in the corner drinking a funny green drink and no hair is me.

One of these days I am going to learn the 4 chords and become a millionaire.

Some of us are that old that they remember when this group started out.
But that is just an albatross around my neck.

1) Buy four pigs
2) Paint the numbers 1,2,3 and 5 on their backs
3) Release said pigs into Meadowhall
4) Sit back and watch Security search for number 4.

Any better ideas?

To make matters worse the guy has had an apology from Northern General, one from Weston Park, one from a Macmillan nurse and one from his own GP. Not a Dickie bird from Hallam who made the cock up.
So, should the guy feel sorry for himself and look on the bright side, the Macmillan nurse filled in a form so he can claim Attendance Allowance which should lead to a Blue Badge.
OR should he sue the hospital so it won't happen again to some other poor sod and give any money awarded to Macmillan?

General Discussion / The NHS a reality
« on: May 20, 2016, 08:07:01 PM »
In January this year a guy felt a lump in his neck. Given his past history with cancer, when a big part of his lung was removed, he was worried, so he went to see his GP. She found 4 lumps and referred him to the Hallamshire hospital in Sheffield, they did a CT scan and said a biopsy was needed. So the guy said o'k and 2 samples were taken from his neck. A week later he returned to hospital and was told the biopsy was o'k, no need for treatment. The guy got on with his life.

Fast forward to May 9th, the guy went for an x-ray at Northern General hospital as part of his yearly check up for his previous lung cancer. May 11th went to see his Specialist and was told the x-ray was clear. Great stuff he thought. The doctor then said I see you missed an appointment he said yes I was on holiday, she then said Oh, I thought you were having treatment. Treatment for what he said? Well the results of your biopsy show cancerous cells in your neck. Turns out he was given the results for one of the biopsy tests and not the other which was entered on his records but nobody thought to tell him.

Following another CT scan at Weston Park hospital it was found that the guy had 3 shadows on his lung, several in his neck and in his right shoulder bones. Give them their due the system kicked in and he had 2 radiotherapy sessions on the 16th and 17th of May. The next stage is Chemotherapy starting 1st of June.

Think this is an urban myth? Your opinions please.

I'm sorry but this is where I get thrown off the forum.
For hundreds of years we as GREAT BRITAIN have taken in other people. whether it be Jews, French aristocrats,  people that suffered under Hitler, people that suffered under Idi Armin or what ever.  I'm sorry but we are a small nation we can not take you any more. It's a smaller land mass we can't take anymore.
O.K., so we see more nowadays through media but I can't remember any of the world's problems being blamed on us before. Why don't we take the same stance as our commonwealth cousins, don't belong here F**k off. I want to live in New Zealand. I can't because I can't buy property and support myself so I'm stuck.

Please don't give me the line that these poor people are being bombed and chucked out of their homes. They are being bombed by their own people. It's called tribal warfare, I'm 66 years old and I remember when the globe was painted red, we never had trouble.

When did you last see a leader of a country on tele saying Oh look at me I'm poor and impoverished and he is wearing a suit made by Saville Row? And by the way can I have a few more millions to pump up my bank balance.

Went down to London the other weekend to attend a conference on what we could do to help ex service men and women, I have never heard so many different languages on the street, and they were not tourists.

I am glad that I am 66 because my kids and grandkids will have to put up this crap not me. Why don't we leave the EU, leave NATO, leave everything, as I said before we are GREAT BRITAIN.

To answer previous posts, yes I am happy to see people come here, but only if they can support themselves and contribute and integrate. But problems lead to ghettos Darnall in Sheffield is Pakistan, Broomhall. Broomhill  is Asian or Somalia, Tinsley is becoming East European this is not integration. I  can't remember if we had problems with Italians, Poles after WWII or the Afro Caribbean's in the 50s or indeed the immigrants from India and Bangladesh in the 60s and 70s When did you hear of the Chinese in this country saying I'm a minority I am being pick on. no, they put down there heads and worked hard, integrated and became part of our culture.

This country is called Great Britain. I don't remember ever being asked to join the EU as it stands. We voted on the Common Market not for some other countries to tell us what to do.

Has the merger of Chesterfield and Sheffield happened? Because as far as I know the majority of Chesterfield Road South and Jordanthorpe Parkway is in South Yorkshire.

My house.
Joking apart it used to be St Augustin's.
