R.B.L. poppy badges
« on: November 21, 2018, 12:13:21 PM »
Having read that almost £3.000 was raised by selling the Chesterfield F.C. / poppy badge I can only applaud those that donated. I always buy a poppy and slip extra into poppy tins whenever. I would have been really keen to have owned such a badge myself but for the fact it had the Chesterfield F.C. logo on it and as I don't like football I saw no reason to obtain one.

Perhaps next year a similar badge with the towns crest on it instead would appeal to people like me who don't follow football, and it would encompass all that is connected with Chesterfield {including football}

I am not a pessimist, I just help them out when they're busy.

This year has been exceptional for poppies and other remembrance memorabilia.
It has had so much publicity and true to form the people of the UK embraced and took part in this special year.
Our village like so many others had a really good turn out and extra monies spent.
Whatever can be sold to fund this cause has to be worthwhile.
Good luck to the RBL and all other organisation who fund raise for this very good cause
