Not into Football fly, but reading that report it sounds as if he's put a lot of money into the club and it's not enough to sustain it?
Others who have put money in are wanting theirs back to which he doesn't agree?

Is he thinking - as long as I keep paying into the club others are happy ?

It does sound as if Chesterfield are onto a slippy slope now doesn't it.

By the way - is Dave Allen the owner of Twiggs in Matlock?

Dave Allen owns the Napoleon casinos in Sheffield...not sure its the same guy that owns Twiggs.

He has put a lot in, although not enough to satisfy some fans, and always said the club had to be self sustainable and he wouldnt bankroll it. Some poor decisions been made thats seen us lose a lot the last few seasons and not looking good for this one either. His announcement last night casts a big shadow over the club but we're still a way off it being the end of the club...for some reason when these things happen to football clubs its a bit different to normal businesses and hopefully some plan will be formulated. The fans will fight tooth and nail to ensure the club survives...we did it once before when the conman Brown tried to bleed the club dry and leave it with nothing.

Not the same Dave - David Allen of Twiggs at Matlock.
As for Chesterfield Football Club - it would not have survived without DA.His shares are 80% of the clubs but as far as I'm aware he isn't selling them.He was instrumental in the move from Saltergate to the Proact and increased the turnover from approx £2.5 Million to £7.5 Million.
As for his walking away from the club - he must have his reasons and this will certainly mean uncertain times ahead. A new investor(s) need to be sought to continue a forward approach rather than just letting the club die.
Seems to me DA saw it as a business adventure that maybe has failed because we look like dropping a division as things stand, Fans calling him out apparently on Sunday as well as is their right I suppose.
Apparently an EGM meeting this afternoon will hopefully point the way forward.

Is this right?

Anyone got £9m to buy our club? Chesterfield board open to outside investment

Has anyone heard how the meeting went?
D.T. not always the most reliable place for information - would they really need £9million??

Yes from what I've heard.
83% of shares worth nearly £5 million and other loans underwritten by other directors.
Plus Dave Allen regularly pumped money in to the club for players wages (£200k a month) and he said he's had enough.
Still £9 million should clear it :'(

Not surprising he's had enough though is it?

I know bransoj is very hopeful that this can be done ( maybe it can ?? ) but it's a lot of money for anyone to raise and who will want to pump that amount into a football club such as Chesterfield - it might have a posh new stadium but that's no use if there is a football club which is losing money!

Appears they've raised the money to see this month out and hopeful of a deal going forward. There is something there to be profitable if its run correctly...seems there has been some bad decisions in recent years and the club has been chucking money away that hopefully can be addressed.

We saw the dark days of Darren Brown and came out the other side and it wont be easy to sort the mess off the pitch and be good on it so there may be some tough watching ahead but there will be a club come the other side of all this of that i'm sure.

It's good they have a months reprieve -  gives them a bit of time to sort it out ( hopefully )
Bad decisions are never good for anyone but sadly they happen and then the pieces have to be picked up.

Now sadly Football is in the news with people coming forward who have been abused by coaches- ( not Chesterfield ). Why is it people show 'shock horror' when this is disclosed.
It's well known that these undesirables will move into jobs where they can access and young people.  :(
