Inside Job?
« on: October 01, 2016, 09:39:14 AM »
My internet's been down.

Talk Talk were/still are looking at it, obviously at them moment it's back on but not yet had confirmation that it completely fixed - so may go down again.

Whilst it was up and running yesterday ( a couple of hours ) we had a phone call and thought it was Talk Talk.

As the call progressed and the caller was asking me to do checks in my LapTop - I knew where this was leading.

No way was I letting them take control of Laptop which I just knew they were leading up to.
I hung up on them - they were persistent though and kept ringing.

How do these people know you are having problems ?

I reckon it may be an inside job from a member of T T's staff passing on information ???

Go to the Talktalk Community forum. http://community.talktalk.co.uk/
Register to join, or login with your current details, I can't remember if you have an account automatically.
Make sure your profile pageon there is then up to date, phone number etc.

Make a new post in, "Help with your TalkTalk service/Unlimited Broadband"
Title it "Possible scammers phoning me", or something like that.

It's a public forum for all TT customers. You 'will' get a reply in the next few days from one of the team.
The forum is also a good place to report faults if you have problems with your broadband but can still access it from somewhere/something else  (y)

The TT team are regularly in town centre near old BHS trying to entice new customers.
They're the ones with the barge pole marks on them :P

No idea fly, the assistant last Monday intimated that to me  ( remember when I saw you in town ).
However I feel as if Ive been strung along and Friday when I spoke to a complaints manager - got a different story - so Im suspecting not!

They are on a final warning that if the new router they want to try isnt with me by Tuesday Im changing companies.

Currently at daughters with my laptop and going to search for deal from other companies! >:(

What I was getting at was that if it's an Openreach problem, moving to another company won't help short term.
If Openreach have told Talktalk that the line's ok, there's not a lot more TT can do. Just mess about with settings to give you the best service possible. The same service you would get from someone else !  :(
