« on: May 22, 2014, 07:35:42 PM »
My sons laptop recently expired for some reason. Its up and running again, but the integral CD/DVD drive wont work , although its there, listed on My Computer. No "autoplay" function.
Any ideas guys?

Try using the Control Panel/Device Manager.
Re-install the driver, or remove the device, then check for new hardware after restarting the computer.
If that doesnt work, do a google search for 'dvd upperfilters'
It's a long shot, but worked for me in the past, hence the suggestion.
