I phoned my IT help line today who checked out what I would need and suggested Libmad. Tried that but PC blocks it!

Grandson apparently uses Audacity so he's offered to come and sort it - I'm not techie minded just thick!  ::)

Grandson's sorted it for me. he needed to check a box for it to be saved into audacity - don't ask  ;D
Also used something of his from one of his external drives - don't ask  ;D
Anyway they are in one long recording now - watch this space when I get the next lot sent to me   :))
