Best photo of 2014
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:33:13 PM »
As the title suggests.  Gerty posted a cracking photo on FaceBook of an early Iris.

Who's going to get the best shot/photo by the end of the year ?

Cameras out boys and girls.

As many as you wish all year long. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.
We'll pick a winner at the end of the year.

Sorry Pete, I've just started something you knew sod all about.

Thank you for that Pam.  In my view though, everyone's images are special......for a multitude of reasons.  It doesn't have to be technically correct, so its the appeal value that's the important bit.  The image, however it comes out will mean something to the photographer or they wouldn't have wanted to capture it in the first instance.  I could write reams on these reasons!

Taking pictures is my hobby but I confess that for every 20 images I capture, there may only be 3 or 4 that are any good (to my eye anyway).  I have a folder on my laptop titled 'Shite shots' which is where all the crap gets filed!    :))

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

This is a great shot Pete.  I've been meaning to take a similar one with daughter's violin.  But it's in the loft, which means it may never see light of day again  ::)

Would have loved to have got some shots of the Uk's 'Northern Lights' show last  :(
What a spectacle that would have been

It is a shame, I agree.  :(

She used to play the sax as well but sold it towards the deposit for her house.  She won't sell the violin though as it has links to her grandad.

Yes, but it's a daffy, and as such is natures greatest spirit lifter.  Thank you for posting it.  Mine haven't flowered yet   :)
