As and when the time comes I would send them a cheque and pin a copy of the obituary notice to it enquiring if this was enough of an emergency.
I'm afraid this is what comes of employing robots who follow procedures rather than letting human beings make judgement calls.

Probably not the right thread for this, but Mother-in-law passed away early hours of this morning - she was 94.
