Got back lunchtime today and had fantastic time. Weather fabulous all week, although it was pretty unsettled week before we went.

Hotel very good and food excellent, resort very quiet and picturesque, only downside was that , although Pollenca  and  Porta Pollenca were both only a 10 minute bus ride away, they only ran at 1 1/2 hour intervals!

Will post some piccies when I get the laptop out.

Glad you had a nice time Mr and Mrs Alsatian  ;)
Thinking about Majorca next easter. Some where close to Palma though  :)
There's not enough close by for us to see up Alcudia way. Not without travelling as you pointed out.

Ok got some piccies:

1. The 'front' and entrance of the hotel - which, as it was built into the side of the bay, was on the top floor!

2. The 'rear' of the hotel which was built to resemble a cruise liner

3. View from the hotel terrace

4. Sand structures in Porta Pollensa

5. Pollensa old town

6. Pollensa old town, the steps go up to a church and you are supposed to lose one sin for each step you climb (didn't bother as there weren't enough steps to absolve my sins!)

7. Pollensa old town (and rear view of daughter!)

8. View towards Cala san Vicente (where our hotel was)

9. View from one of the few coffee shops/cafes in Cal san Vicente

10. Pollensa old town at night - SWMBO's (pictured facing camera) birthday and we went there for a meal in the evening.

11. Pollensa old town at night

12. Porta Pollensa, these small fish came right up to the waters edge - surprised they didn't get washed up onto the beach!

13. Porta Pollensa beach

14. Porta Pollensa

15. Mini Moke - just had to take a photo of this (as I used to be a BL mechanic in the early '70s!)

16. Interior of Mini Moke

eeep fly thats bad :(
Just realised whilst reading through the posts I never updated on our Jollies earlier this summer.
Twas Hope Cove down in Devon, was absolutly gorgeous. Weather was fantastic. There isn't that much to do in the little village itself however  it was easy enough to entertain ourselves on the beache(s) there were 2 beaches not massive but decent sizes. The sea was clear so wasn't too frightened to go for a swim! Saw some lovely little fishies...
Went to the local pub for lunch and some drinkies with the bro and sis in law. Laura celebrated her 5th birthday there too, most of her day was spent collecting snails.
Had a trip to Salcombe to see a boat race and to have a looky round also a lovely place to visit! The cottage we stayed in was great. OH and I shared a room which was ensuite. FIL and step MIL shared a room with ensuite, bro in law had a room and Laura shared with sis in law! So very roomy and could easily accomodate the 7 of us.
So all in all I reckon we will return to this lovely little place again :)
view from room :)

the girl

the sea :D

and OH and Laura

Looks like an ideal place for a break Emmz, bet your daughter loved being able to go in the sea, all to often we get bad weather in UK for our heard earned hols. Pleased you enjoyed it  8)

More DuckMarine woes on the Thames today. 30 people rescued as one caught fire.
So that's why they weren't on the Albert Dock, have they transfered them to London after the two incidents in Liverpool.

I think they ought to have a serious think about what they are doing - has someone got to die before its sorted?

Oh dear, so pleased that didn't happen when we were on the one in Liverpool earlier this year - Quite agree Mr Pete, it's time they took them out altogether
