@ Pepsiperfect it wasn't just for Christian members just a gathering of forum members to have a drink - time of year - well maybe because Christmas is the time of year when people have longer holidays from work (well some do) and they just tend to go out and make time for socialising - boozing hasn't anything to do with the religious sense of Christmas in my book.

Sorry I couldn't make it, as some of you may know we're having problems with the Mother-in-law, not only physical - she has been diagnosed with early onset of dementia and she seems to keep drifting in and out of 'sanity' (for want of a better descriptive term. This also explains my lack of posts over the last few weeks (although it seems more like months!)

Sounds like a decent turnout and that you all had a good time (due to me being absent?)  ;)

Here's hoping to attending the 2013 'do'!  :)

Sorry to hear about your MIl Alsatian, my mum was suffereing with dementia and we were all suffering along with her, just to help her to stay in her own home was tiring and both myself and two brothers suffered ill health in one way or another. I gave up most of my work to be there for her and my brothers certainly did their bit as well. We found it easier for her and us to just go with her (if you get mt drift). Enjoy her whilst you still have some of her (again if you get my drift) Hugs to you all

Rants / Re: Benefits - again!
« on: December 29, 2012, 04:26:27 PM »
Benefits Alsatian. Wait for next year when the new bedroom tax and council tax starts. This government thinks it is ok to kick people out of their home which they have lived in for years. They are also having a big change in the benefits system which I know there are some who have jumped on the band wagon problem is the government are lumping everyone as the same - and the genuine ones will be penalised big time. It won't affect me, but it 'may' affect your sister and it will affect my daughter. I have been been reading up quite a lot on what they are doing and to be honest it's quite frightening. Local councils will have one big problem I am thinking as it is not them that are making the changes/decisions. Big headaches coming all round - whilst those that have decided to do this are sat on their arses with plenty of cash going into their pots.
Just as a ps  I have read that savings for any council tax elegibilty will be 6 grand, but the council rents benefits will be still 16 grand.
Rant over --- for now!  >:(

@ Fly - my daughter used hers for clothes, just before Christmas think she cashed them in and got more for her points on clothes or something like that/

@ Loopy - nice one! We always saved them up all year and used them for christmas stuff but now there's only the two of us - we can use them just for us.

It was a good night and very nice to meet new people.  Really sorry you missed it, Gertie but, I suppose we have to expect people of your age to be a bit forgetful.  ;) x

B&Q have that stupid hump with a silly narrow turn - I just go straight over and in the other way - can't be doing with it.
The R/Side - well what can I say, traffic coming out from all directions, can't park up because bays are blocked by cars queing to get out - really silly design
