Rants / Council tax
« on: October 23, 2015, 03:49:33 PM »
So as many of you know i started work back in July, full time etc etc.
I had been on benefits for 3 months prior so was getting the usual council tax/housing benefit.
Usuall when receiving such a benefit you get a reduced council tax bill, this was not the case so i was still paying through unemployment the higher part.
Skip ahead to my work and i notify them that i had started work blah blah.
I then asked well why did i never recieve a revised bill....get told that I was £300 up so i had overpaid them.
I then revcieved paper work to state 1) i was still entitled even though i work 40 hrs a week and that 2) I was overpaid by them £600 in housing benefit and £180 council tax...
How on earth in 3 months have i been overpaid and why when i owe them money they demand it or they take me to court?
grrr

General Discussion / My news

So after a hard week i am hoping things get back to normal.
Thursday saw us saying goodbye to OH's grandma I was honoured to sit with the family at the crematorium
Laura was absolutly fantastic and sat and behaved through the service, she understood what was happening and we made sure we explained if needed especially when asking was a "cremation" was.
unfortunately later the same day she had quite a bad reaction to some suncream. Boots Soltan hypoallergenic one, so after a call to 111 and a trip to the chemist for some antihistamines she seemed well enough and even snoozed for an hour.
This weekend saw OH and I visiting a friend as we do each year whilst Laura stayed at nana's house which she enjoyed but she was more than ready to come home after just 1 night <3
Job hunt is going incrediably slow as most employers seem to not get intouch with you which is annoying but I will get there soon.
Next week is the year 2 SAT's so my little angel will be doing her tests and hopefully will do well, she does do particularly well in all areas of school and is top of her class for reading writing and maths (boast)
2 weeks yesterday we will be travelling for our holidays which luckily was paid for whilst I was still in work. All looking forward to going I just hate packing lol
Apart from that not much happening here

So on 12th March the author of the discworld series sadly died at the age of 66
I loved his work and read a few of his books.
The first Book of his i read was The colour of magic i am sure i still have the book somewhere,

He died of Alzheimers disease, still way too young to be taken from this world if i am honest, his work will live on of course....

Rants / Contract work
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:13:21 PM »
As some of you may know i started a contract with Manpower back in 2013 working at CSC.
Just recently the people getting "the sack" has risen quite rapidly
Anyhow, i was called in last week to discuss my absence, I know its high and was expecting the worst, however....
On my file it shows me of having talks with the lady there, and apparently have notes to confirme this, well after speaking with lady on monday she asked how many times have you spoken with C* to which i replied er none, her reaction was quite funny when she asked are you sure? to which i replied yes never spoken, never been asked to go for a meeting..

Well i should have got the sack and expected as much but because said C had never called me into a meeting I have been saved for now.

Being a contract worker i dont have the option of being in a union, I also know i can be let go at a weeks notice or immediately. But why not do things by the book why on my record does it show said meetings when i have 1) no proof of it and 2) never been asked to one, this time round i recieved an email of such meeting to which i saved in a folder....

Not so much of a rant but it has pissed me off, especially when all these people are being shown the door, one because CSC are losing their accounts so dont need the people and 2) that we can be treated this way from Manpower themselves.

So now, I can't have a sick day for 6 months otherwise my next meeting will see their boot in my arse

After the laughs he has given us over the years he passed away yesterday
I for one feel quite sad of his passing, and I sympathise what he was going through.
Depression is a horrible thing to have and I myself have felt as low as he did.
I hope he has found peace now and is he is in a better place.

I loved the work he did, he was a great actor and comedian. Respect to his friends and family at this time :(

General Discussion / Flu Jabs
« on: August 02, 2014, 07:19:41 PM »
I know its still very early but just wanted to know whether any of you lot have a flu jab every year and whether it had made you feel better or worse over all?
As some may or may not know I was poorly early in the year, I had the official diagnosis of Asthma in june (7 months after first symptoms) and have been told I can be eligable for it.
Now I don't normally have flu just bad coughs, have been prone to chest infections but no actual flu. So my question is, is it worth it. No i know I get it free etc etc but I don't know if I will benefit in the long run

What a day its been for me today,
Little un was not so well yesterday so was unable to do the after school club, complaining that her tummy hurt etc,
I went out in the eve so wasnt back til gone 9, she was asleep in the main bed...noticed that as she was breathing it was taking a lot of effort but decided to leave and see how she was today.
Still the same this morning so booked her into docs for 10:10 so she went to school for an hour before i picked her up...
Doc takes a look at her does the normal checks, she too is non too happy at the effort its taking just to breath, and a slight wheeze on her right hand side. She doctor calls a doc at the Nightingale wing at the royal and asks for Laura to go down for a check, so its home time with a phonecall to school to tell them and phone work to tell them i will not be in.
Get to the hospital onto the Ward get seen, Laura is looked at again.......
Tonsils inflammed still a slight wheeze lets see how it goes, first they decide to try her on the blue inhaler 8 puffs...
Check again an hour later to see how she is, doctor firstly says she sounds better lets send her home cue me thinking yay.
Then for some reason after her obs the doc comes back and says lets do a chest X-ray (boooo) so we toddle for that, chest x-ray shows a slight patch on her chest.
Cue antibiotics and the inhaler to bring home.
We got back at around 6:30 after going this morning.
Laura has been an angel and other than her cough has been well enough, teh outcome is an infection on her chest (slight pneumonia) but the antibiotics should clear that up with the inhaler to help the wheeziness...
I really really cannot fault the doctors or the hospital. all were amazing and I am glad i followed my instinct.. so thats me day in a nutshell a day off work and time spent in a hospital wing ;D

« on: April 01, 2014, 08:10:52 PM »
Thought Id make a random post as i dont seem to do that much any more,
Work is still there for the next three months anyways, which  is good though I have ot actually broken even financial wise, Earn a living yet pay more....
Little un (not so little) Is also taking a lot of time again with her different clubs and what not and later this summer will turn 6.
I hit the big 30 this year and will actually celebrate with my first ever party!
Health is not so great may have asthma once again, looking very much that way after a Spirometry test this afternoon which showed a 20% increase for a better output after taking an Inhaler, so have a brown and blue inhaler now. Hoping that it eases my discomfort as I have been coughing every day for 4months!,
Hope your all fit and well, was good to see Flyboy the other day as i jumped into his taxi :D
