Bricked tablet again ;-)
« on: November 26, 2013, 06:56:10 PM »
Tablet told me this morning that an update to Android 4.4 Kit-Kat was available, so I clicked 'OK'.
It downloaded and left my tablet un-useable LOL  ;)

So now I've had to factory reset it, update to my previous updated version of Android, and update again to the new version.
All's well and running fine again.
Just got to reinstall all the apps I had on it because it's wiped it clean.
God help the people who don't know how to do the above, saved me a trip to PcWorld  :) It's still under warranty  8)

Was my own fault really.

To all members  MD

We all know you can go and get some mobile phones unlocked so you can put a different sim card in.
Google tablets are similiar, APPLE iPads are actually worse.
I'd unlocked the tablet myself so I can put any software I want on it. This voids the warranty. PcWorld won't touch it.
I bet the people who run the phone/tablet unlocking shops are rubbing their hands this morning.
Oh yes, we can sort that, £50 mate. This is the same person that unlocked it and probably charged £20 for it.
No one knew the upgrade would render units inoperable.
How many people have unlocked Nexus 7's but won't read this, and don't realise it is repairable. For free !!
