Title: It's me again
Post by: Old Cruser on January 30, 2017, 11:35:12 AM
I have a problem with my small laptop now - think they are taking it in turns to frustrate me !  >:(

When my main lap tops hard drive was faulty I transferred all my files into the small laptop as well as ( I think ) an external  hard drive.

Anyway to cut it short I want to move all the files out of small laptop onto another external hard drive - but it won't transfer it?

I think the memory is getting full and want to delete all my stuff in the small laptop -

Any ideas.

Meant to reply yesterday  :-[

What sort of 'errors' is it saying. Have you right clicked the drive and checked it's properties. eg Free Space ?

Every file I try it says it's too long to 'download' - even just one photo.
Have put it on a refresh today but it's still doing it.

An 'upload' or 'download', to me, would imply that the files are being transferred into 'online' storage.
This would be done over your internet(broadband) connection. Dropbox, SkyDrive, iCloud, The Cloud, are examples of 'Online Storage'.

Are you trying to transfer the files using a website, or via direct transfer from one drive to another using 'My Computer' or 'Windows Explorer' ?
This is where it might get tricky and confusing. I can access my 'OneDrive' online account through 'My Computer'  :-X

Just trying to send them to an external hard drive. I've spent quite a while going through all three of my external drives and reckon I have all the photo's in them.
So -- I've deleted them out of the small laptop just now.
Since I refreshed it last night it's worked better but I think there may be a Microsoft problem as it won't let me log in even after I reset my password

Good news then. I think lol  ;)

I suggest you pass the laptop to the tech guys. At least there's nothing on it they can lose this time  ::)

The refresh seems to have sorted it.
I've got into my Microsoft account today.
Also bought another external Drive and intend to put all my history stuff in there.
Too many hours of work to lose it.
