It does scimitar thanks. I've had the thank you lights and thumbs up but it made me smile when the driver behind got the thumbs down.

It was more the drivers irritation when I asked that I noticed.
TBH I was very concerned when this person wasn't on the bus.
The driver could have been politer in his response I thought, but as I said had probably had a bad day.

Ticket machine updates eh ------ whatever next !   :)

PS I think the road works start on Monday --- good luck !

Derby Rd will be out of my zone from now until Friday night next week. ;D
No doubt it will catch up with me thereafter ::)
Meanwhile - take a deep breath and relax ;D

Wingerworth, Grangewood and head up past West Street to go to Newbold.
Bug bare bug bare will be the roundabout as I get through Grangewood ( Walton )

I live in Newbold and quite often go round Grangewood if its busy.I reckon it doesn'ttake much longer  because the number of times I have  stood at the lights at the end of Storfotth Lane and they have sometimes changed two and three times  and I have not moved an inch. When you sit there it is surprising just how much traffic comes  down Storforth  Lane and turns right towards town.
It is there and the lights at the bottom of St.Augustines that are the problem as once you are through them you are soon at Horns Bridge.
How you can do something about it I have no idea.

Hit the nail on the head there Umpire!
Traffic from Storforth Lane on to Derby Rd - loads of time at traffic lights - and they concertina into the yellow box junction.
Yet the opposing lights let fewer traffic through?
You would think Derby Rd would have the priority as it is the main artery into Chesterfield?!?

Do they filter depending of the time of day as sometimes they change quicker than others?

When I do come down Derby Road to the lights at St.Augustines whether its my imagination or not but there always seems to be more cars get out of that road  than  there does when the lights are on green on Derby Road.
I suspect they give priority to St Augustines Road  but if someone wants to go and stand there with a stop watch and prove me wrong they are welcome. :-* ;) ;)

Some I think sneak through on red !!

I can only go on different times of day when lights seem to let more through than other times.

I'll let the professional drivers either advice or do the stop watch test Umpire.   MD  :))

Meanwhile it's D Day at the Cineworld lights !!

Having seen the 'finished' work on the end of Redvers Buller, and Lord Roberts Roads, I don't think the idea will work.

I had a walk down Derby Road today while the other half was swimming at Queens Park. They are now doing something similar at the road which runs behind Jawbones Hill.I am sorry but they must have money to burn .There were four big white vans and six men plus all the big machinery.Further down opposite Screwfix a similar number still tarmacing etc.

Agreed- seems a huge waste of finances for something that is not going to stop the rush hour rat run - surely a simple zebra crossing would have been safer & simpler :o
