I bought hubby a watch which didn't need a battery or winding up. It goes on light recharging. He's had it years.

I've got one or two old coins from when daughter was little.
Hubby has a collection of really old coins from his mum. I looked on the internet a few years ago but couldn't find any which were worth anything!
Same with my boxed set of Beatles singles. Only been played once as I recorded them and played the recording. Guess what - that particular box isn't worth much at all!
Mind you I might just have another look to see if it's altered! ;)

These days it's generally cheaper to buy new appliances, it's annoying though isn't it when they seem to last as long as we would expect.
Gone are the days when we rented a tele and if they went wrong the shop had their own engineers to come out and fix if possible.
We used Marshalls in Clay Cross for many years and they were pretty good at sending out engineers to fix things. These days it's the same as everywhere - buy a new one!
Improving Technology hasn't helped us in the repair section has it.

Just saw on B.B.C. news this morning a lady horse trainer was being interviewed and he interviewer remarked how "she" had lost a horse yesterday as it had to be put down and her basic cavalier reply was along the lines of:-
"Hey ho these things happen, not too worry I've got more".

I'll never understand why it's even called a sport, and why the need for horse trainers? correct me if I'm wrong but don't horses already know how to run, they don't need to be shown.

Hard hearted or what abd here's me crying  if I like a Hedgehog!

That's it The George!  Don't mind paying a bit more if it's decent food. We'll have to try it.

We haven't been abroad since 2019 and we haven't missed it. It would take something spectacular, like a lottery win, to get us to go, we'll stick with Blighty for now.

I can't remember using either of those airports, haven't flown for a few years now - we prefer to hop on a ship
