I was travelling up Loundsley Green rd this morning when i spotted someone in a hi-viz jacket in the distance, as i got closer i spotted a motorbike blocking the pavement, with a tripod next to it. After doing a bit of digging, it would appear that these things are operated by Derbyshire Crest,  the same people that operate speed camera vans.  These kind of tactics can hardly be called a deterent, & unless they have a camera facing away, they won't catch motorbikes, nor will they catch the growing number of illegal drivers in this area, who don't have driving licences & use "pool" cars. I also would like to know if they turn out at night, when this road is used as a drag strip ?

I don't watch such crap as "celebrity" big brother,& i don't know what this is all about, but does this woman really deserve to have her career ruined & be forced from the role of cinderella at the pomegranate by the derbyshire times led hate campaign ?

Chesterfield Discussion / The LibDem weed obsession !
« on: August 01, 2017, 07:09:22 PM »
And i'm not talking the wackybaccy stuff the LibDems wanted to legalise !   :))

It's been a good few weeks now since the elections, but for some reason i'm still getting LibDem leaflets shoved through my door every few days, about 2 leaflets a week on average ! .... Has no one told the LibDems that the elections are done with for the time being ? :-?
All of these leaflets feature Keith Falconer ( who i believe was once a councillor, but no more) who likes to have his photograph taken with weeds & then has leaflets printed to complain that the council has not exterminated them.

In an ideal world the council would normally spray the weeds, but i'm sure that there are more important issues to deal with, & if there was a weed outside my house on the pavement & if it bothered me that much.. i would deal with it myself !

Also... who is paying for all of these pointless leaflets ?

May i take the opportunity to inform the local community about a protected sycamore tree that builders are wanting to fell !
This sycamore tree is located on the edge at the inkerman field on the former site of "Character windows", Ashgate road, ( next to the crispin ), Chesterfield, where "Antony Aston builders" are building some houses.
Antony aston builders have applied for permission to fell this tree, which has a TREE PROTECTION ORDER on it.  Probably because - incredibly, they have somehow  managed  to build a house too close to it ?
Not sure if this is incompetence by the builders or the planning department at CBC ?.

Some local people have set up a petition site for people to object to the felling of the tree, if you agree please sign the petition.

It is also rumoured that this building firm are trying to negotiate to get some of the land at the rear of the crispin, which was the beer garden,... no doubt this would involve more tree felling so they can build more houses ?

Rants / £1.15 for a Derbyshire (advertiser) Times
« on: February 27, 2016, 07:08:09 PM »
I really can't understand why people still buy this rubbish "news"paper ?
I have just picked up this weeks edition, & I guesstimate that about 80% + of the paper is adverts.
Not only is this rag full of adverts, but they even messed up the leading front page story about the pervy teacher. !  In the edition that i looked at, the full story was supposed to be continued on page 17, but i couldn't find it anywhere in the paper. And it's not just regular mistakes like this, they often mess up the obituaries, bad spelling of names, wrong information about the deceased, etc, I know of someone  who wanted her husband put in the obituaries,( he has actually died)  a few weeks ago, althougn the funeral director got in well before the deadline, it never appeared in the edition before his funeral.
As you can imagine, this would be rather upsetting !
You would think that the obituaries would get some priority, not only does it cost a fortune to have your nearest & dearest  put in this section, but when all said & done......most people really only buy the DT to see if they knew anyone that has died !

I really shouldn't complain though, i haven't bought it for a few years,... i read other peoples ! ;)

I would have sent this to the DT to put in the " letters" section, but i doubt if they would have published it ?
But if anyone from the DT has read this, please feel free to publish it...... without editing it  !

Chesterfield Discussion / Tesco at it again !
« on: May 11, 2015, 10:54:49 PM »
It seems like the Tesco dirty tricks department is back in full swing again !

A few months ago, Tesco reassured Crispin customers that they weren't taking the pub.
Now.. just as everyone thought that the crispin was safe,.. it  looks like they are going to take it anyway ! :o
Can we ever trust lying Tesco again ? >:(
