It's all very strange. Theresa May replaces Cameron because he resigned. She therefore becomes an unelected leader of the Conservative Party.
However the traditional opposition to the tories has been Labour for the most part. They themselves are in disarray over Jeremy Corbyn's party leadership and appear to have no direction.
The rest of the bunch - Liberals,Greens,Ukip etc, seem feeble and unprepared for a General Election, let alone win it outright.
I conclude that we let the new unelected Prime Minister of Great Britain get on with it whilst we watch her like a hawk and the other parties re-group to bolster a credible opposition should she and her party fail to deliver over the next few months.
I've never been a strong supporter of politicians generally when it comes to elections, but let's see what they do regarding Brexit & the promises Mrs May has voiced prior to & post her appointment.
