Late but --Back from my hols
« on: July 31, 2012, 10:38:26 AM »
It's over a week (coming up to two) since we returned from our hols. Circumstances meant I hadn't the time to do this, now mums house is cleared and I am up to date with all paper work of hers.
So!
We began our jollies with a 2 night stay from 1st July in Southampton where it peed it down the whole of the second day, the first day we enjoyed walking through quite a few parks which all link together, for the shopping lovers there are two huge shopping centres there.
The P&O's Grand Event sail away on 3rd July was damp and drizzly, and the Red Arrows display was cancelled  :( The firework display given to each ship as it passed by was good though also the free champaign went down extremely well (my favourite tipple)
I have some photo's which I will try and up load later.

It's very sad that your holiday was overshadowed with the loss of your Mum, but it sounds like the cruise was excellent and I look forwards to seeing your photographs.

I am just returned from a much less grand holiday at Center Parcs where we had unbelievable wall to wall sunshine and a great time :)

I don't think it matters where we go for our hols as long as the weather is kind to us - skegvegas would do me!

Well, I'd just like to say welcome back. :)

Not the best of photo's but the weather wasn't good These are some of the seven of P&O's cruise ships leaving Southampton

This was the princess Royals boat - I thought it looked more like a pilot boat seeing us of Southampton  ::)

Each ship had a firework display as it passed a certain point

This is the newest war ship (think they said 'destroyer) of UK

No, we did the narrow boat thingy last year up in Yorkshire. This time (not my idea) we are on the Broads in one of these boats (picked by my eldest and her partner)...

Don't ask me which one, I am not normally consulted when 'er indoors and the girls get their heads together...  :(

Daft thing is we turned down a free holiday in the Greek Islands cos the womenfolk decided on the Broads.

Dreading it.

This is what I had to turn down. http://bit.ly/OjhaUd
