We move around for eating out places.
The Blue Bell North Wingfield ( Carvery) booking needed
The Greyhound Higham. (Sunday Roast) are two we use Booking needed.
Harversters, Smithy Pond, There's one in Newbold Olde House
We also have called in at Tansley Garden Centre ( they do a carvery) on Sundays.
Over the years I think they have all had their blips and we've given them a break for awhile - maybe it's to do with the Chefs??
We are going to Nandos this weekend for a birthday celebration Haven't been their for ages.
Six Halts in Clay Cross - I won't go there!
Actually there's a pub in Clay Cross which has a good name for food but I've never been as yet and can't think of the name!! ::) :(

I don't watch horse racing, but 12 years ago, had a big fall at Beechers Brook at Aintree....inside the horse race circuit is one of the old grand prix circuits, and I was racing my car. Luckily, I was not hurt too much but my car was a tad damaged!

Wazz  :)) It's a long time since I heard that word.
If I was needing one after a long trip, - having to  go to the precinct toilets ----- it would be too late.  :)) :))

Using this post..........
It's Grand National weekend coming up on the 13th, every year there's an outcry due to the number of horses dying, especially in just that one race {4 last year} and every year their voices are drowned out and the carnage continues.
All because there's far too much money to be made to worry about a few horses, there must be tens of millions of pounds bet on that one race so a few do- gooders bellyaching about dead horses will not stop the "fun".

I think I mentioned on an earlier post about Aintree, something to do with ambulances covering at the track over Grand National weekend when "genuine" patients dial 999 and can't get an ambulance to attend 'cos they are too busy rubbing cream on jockey's sore backsides.
Very few things I get on my high horse for {excuse the pun} but horse racing makes me seethe.

I put horse racing, in any form in the same category I would put bullfighting

Read in this weeks D.T. the council in their infinite wisdom has closed down the toilets in the coach station on Tontine road.

So people if you've just endured a couple of hours coach ride to Chesterfield and you desperately need a wazz on alighting.... Oh' dear!!!!!!!

Yes there are toilets across the way at the top of the escalators but if your a stranger to Chesterfield just hope the're well signposted.

Not heard of this place...I generally eat out in pubs out of town...

De Rhodes pub Barlborough on the main road to Worksop........your not missing anything.
Apparently it's the same pub chain that run the Young Vanish in Glapwell and the Woodend in Huthwaite both of these are far superior.
I put a tripadviser review about my visit and just got the "Sorry we didn't meet your expectations" guff, in the review I missed out how the staff were non existent in the pub all the time we were there because they were all in the kitchen screaming and cackling like a coven of witches.
