Iraq war was ' unnecessary' Chikcot report.
« on: July 06, 2016, 05:45:16 PM »
The findings of the Chilcot report have said that sending troops to Iraq was a unnecessary move by Tony Blair also resolved nothing in the long term. I remember at the time much was made of weapons of mass destruction and a unholy union was formed between Blair's government and  the Bush administration and thousands of troops were deployed many didn't come back. No weapons that could have caused mass destruction were ever found over the years many who lost loved ones fought hard to find the turth . The Bush administration were the only winners they got their oil and rid of a enemy who wouldn't play ball with them, the war made the region unstable and saw the raise of terrorists group like IS come into been. Nothing can be done to bring back the victims of this war but Justice needs to be seen to be done. Its clear that Tony Blair took this country to war on lies I think he should be taken to court so that families at least know the truth to know the real reason why their loved ones didn't return home .

This may well be taken to the Criminal Courts by the families who lost their loved ones.

They'll need a big court house to get Blair and his committee/party in.
Didn't his decision have to go through the house of lords too ??

Blair made his speech to the press saying how sorry he was banging on but then said he had no regrets about going into Iraq. That man knew their was NO weapons of mass destruction saying that reports he had were wrong in hindsight didn't he ever think to check them before deploying troops? 179 soldiers were killed because of his errors the man is arrogant beyond belief, just recently Blair surfaced again to shove his nose in the EU debate needs to be drag into court. The only winner here was Bush he got his lap dog to carry the can while America got its cheap oil.

I remember hearing that our Troops were sent without proper equipment/gear.
Blair says he would do it again - no conscience that man.

Many didn't have the right equipment for desert combat wrong boots for one. Many UK soldiers had to borrow equipment off the Americans . Blair needs to be made answer a lot of questions instead of been allowed to walk away .

It seems that most of the points raised by the report were raised before Blair decided to authorise the military action.
Nevertheless it went ahead seemingly to appease the USA leadership (Bush).
I wonder why the USA has not had a similar investigation in to this apparently unauthorised intervention.Maybe they have but I'm not aware of it.

I heard only during the last few days of a statement from America -
They are only interested in what is happening now in Iraq not what happened years ago.

Quite frankly I was disgusted that they could just dismiss this as they have1
