General Discussion / Re: New telly sorted :-)

Now you technophobes might find this interesting.

I read a topic on another forum, Sheffield actually.
Plug a USB stick into the back of your 'Newer, flat screen LCD telly'.

Goto your EPG, set a timer for a program you want to watch later,
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
And it records it to the USB memory stick  ;D

Now that wasn't in the manual.
Just recorded Police Interceptors, going to watch it now.  8)

True but you'd think by now they'd be old enough to wonder why?

They've probably had years of wondering, and being told why, by their mother  :o
I do understand where your coming from  :)

Why do you think all this grieves me so much, and why I started the thread.
She left me, and the kid's still give me grief, well they did, still not heard from them.

Just for the record, I wasn't implying that all kids of CBA parents turn into CBA's.
I'm sure you all know I'm not that shallow to imply that.

I personally think the Sure Start thing was/is good.
A similiar thing was in situ when me and my ex parted.
We used it as a neutral ground for my contact with the kids.

The plans shown on that link look like they will blend in with the new surgery next door  :)
I saw the surgery plans last year in Avondale Surgery.

Nice find Kent, but doesn't it make you believe, the hotter wash is better.
So my socks and undies get a program 3 in future, but not with other clothing.

Cost wasn't a factor in my post.
A 2 1/2 hour wash is, for an efficient 'A' related machine, not, very efficient :-)

Depends on several factors. Is your machine cold fill only as many are these days. The most inefficient part of the cycle is getting the water hot, whether thats done by the machine or your heating system. If your machine is hot-filled, and you have gas central heating, its less of a major factor, if the machine is heating the water then the temperature and length of heat cycle comes into play much more. But having said that, unless you have the machine on all day every day, we aren't talkiing great sums of money.
Generally though, the advice is to go for shorter and cooler cycles.....but then you might spend a bit more on a better detergent to get the same results. Swings and roundabouts.

Cold water fill, and used 2 -3 times a week.
So we're probably right, program 7 or 9. 3 if it's a 'dirty' load.

Not sure if the phrase, 'Brought up, not dragged up', works here.
Over the last say, 30 years, have more kids been dragged up by their parents with a CBA attitude.
No jobs bla bla bla
These kids are now having their own kids, born with a CBA attitude.

Am I lucky to have been brought up from within a working class family ?
If I, find it hard to believe, how the mind of a CBA family enviroment works,
how the hell does a politician, on his/her wages.

Hope this makes sense  ::)
