Very sad news today. It must be a nightmare for those living in these two countries. TV footage is frightening to watch.
Our weather is rubbish at times in the Uk but we don't get earthquake's - yet!

General Discussion / Covid
« on: March 17, 2022, 07:06:06 PM »
I have finally been got at by the virus!

Very un pleasant - a bit like having a rotting animal up my nose  :-?

My main concern the first two days were not being able to care for my six Hedgehogs but I managed ( this was all I did manage)
I think I got of lightly compared to some and although still testing positive I'm starting to feel better.

Would I be worried if I got it again - not if it was like this time as it was manageable, but it's always a gambled with this orrible virus  >: >:

General Discussion / Our Queen
« on: January 16, 2022, 10:42:55 AM »
Our Queen deserves better than the shite that has landed on her doorstep, both with her son and the Government.
I'm not getting into Andrews mess but will say all of us in our lives must choose who we mix with carefully the Royal Family needs to be extra cautious - he's landed himself in it good and proper now!
The Royal family meet many many people in their duties but what isn't to me usually done is putting ones arm around someone who don't know for a photograph to be taken -

As for Boris and his party disrespect isn't in it is it! Everyone who attended those boozy do's should be taken to account for their actions.

Moving swiftly on it's our Queens Platinum Jubilee and early last year I secured a booking for a speaker  to come and tell us ( Tupton History Society) of her life and reign, I'm told by the speaker there are things which even she did not know. This will be at the start of the long four day Bank Holiday the UK is to have.
I'm sure our village will have entertainment being organised as well.

Have any of your villages/towns started making plans yet - we need even more so to celebrate this She deserves better!

General Discussion / Safely gathered in
« on: November 29, 2021, 01:24:49 PM »
Four Hoglets that is. Three from my own garden and one brought to me.
I'm only a small sanctuary so can't fit anymore in. If it were the spring summer it would be easier for me as they would be outside.

This is Viper. He's the noisy one and needs a lot of food as he appears to have a lot of worm infestation. Viper was the last one I took in from my garden in November. He's very vocal and on my first encounter with him he hissed at me. Now he just starts shouting at me if I'm disturbing him whilst cleaning the other three out.
In the photo I reckon he's sulking as he wanted his breakfast and I was late!

Chesterfield Discussion / The first snow of the year
« on: November 27, 2021, 01:04:32 PM »
I went to bed last night and could see flakes of snow in the rain.
Waking up this morning I watched a blizzard raging down our road.
It's not gone yet but certainly melted some of it.
Welcome to winter folks.
