Chesterfield Discussion / karen at the butchers.
« on: October 26, 2023, 11:52:21 AM »
For those of you who do not know what a Karen is, it is an entitled person who thinks they can order other people around and they come in varying degrees of Karenicity from just barking orders to screaming and criminal damage (type wild karens into YouTube) and you will see what i mean.
Today i went into the butchers in the market hall (the one opposite Elliot's) where they sell individually portioned pieces of pie from a metal tray, so i  politely asked for a piece of steak pie from the lady who was serving and she proceeded to give me a corner piece and i politely requested a piece with only one edge of pastry the response i received was and i quote "you don't get to get to pick and chose that will leave me with only two corner pieces" unquote, whaaaat  can i point out Karen that pick and chose is exactly what i get to do when i am spending MY money, it is not for you karen to decide what i spend my money on it is up to me, and i did offer to give the piece of pie back as it seemed to mean so much to her (maybe she was saving it for her husbands tea) over the last 30-40 years customer service has come a long way however some people still seem to be in the wrong trade.

Politics / Farage says Brexit is a failure.
« on: June 13, 2023, 01:07:57 PM »
Farage says Brexit is a failure, and of course he has blamed everyone from the government to civil servants, the truth is leaving the EU was always going to cause the country damage as leaving the biggest economic area in the world was not only an act of self harm it was also entirely stupid.
The people who voted to leave have now begun to realise they have been lied to which is reflected in the polls which has people who think Brexit was a success at 33% and people who think it was a failure at 54% yet still our politicians continue to claim that leaving the EU is the will of the people when clearly the people have realised it was a massive mistake.

Politics / Boris did he fall or was he pushed?
« on: June 10, 2023, 01:24:48 PM »
Boris has resigned his Parliamentary seat or so it seems, however he has already seen the report from the standars commitee, so it would seem the answer to the title of this post is both, he fell of his own violition just before he was pushed.
His resignation containes the usual mix of obfuscation and concpiracy theories worthy of Trump himself, the real pity is has taken this long to see Borises true colours and now after him dragging us out of the EU to further his own ambitions the people of this country now realise that leaving the EU is not the panacea it was claimed to be and as a result our economy will continue to suffer for years to come.

Politics / Liz Truss resigns
« on: October 20, 2022, 02:16:58 PM »
Liz Truss resignation was inevitable the pity is she was allowed to inflict imense damage on the economy before her political demise and already there is talk that benefit recipients and the poor in general are being lined up to pay for it, this after twelve years of austerity where benefits were slashed by thousands of pounds in real terms and the NHS and other sevices people rely on were starved of investment, the kindest thing that could be said about twelve years of Tory misrule. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBIo42ws57s

Politics / kwasi kwarteng sacked
« on: October 14, 2022, 12:59:37 PM »
kwasi kwarteng sacked What?, and he was doing so well, thats if you discount trashing the pound, increasing motgages, crashing the gilt markets and increasing inflation, and all this time he and Liz Tuss were being repeatedly warned that this would happen by the then Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
And all of this debacle was voted for by a handfull of delusional and possibly dementia riddled geriatrics who just happen to be demented enough to be members of the Tory party.

Politics / Tory handouts for the rich while penalising the poor.
« on: September 24, 2022, 01:54:03 PM »
So there we have it the Tories are giving huge handouts for the richest 10% while at the same time part time workers with universal credit top up to face even more draconian sanctions, as an example a banker on an income of 3 million pound a year including bonuses will get one hundred and sixty five thousand pound a year extra in his pay packet and a single parent who works part time because they have to look after the children are to face the extra universal credit pitance they get being cut, clearly a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich (Robin Hood in reverse) these Tories have no empathy and no shame.

Politics / tax cuts for the rich
« on: September 23, 2022, 02:13:05 PM »
So here we go again the last time a Tory government gave away such a huge amount of borrowed money was in the early 70s the results where catastrophic which caused inflation to top 25% and ultimately led to the crash of the early 80s precided over by Thatchers Government and we all know what that meant for the majority of the poorer people in this country.
The magority of the borrowed money will end up in the pockets of the richest 10% and when it inevitably all comes crashing down who will have to pay for it, this is an easy one the poor.
This goverment has been in power for tweve years and during that time to justify the austerity measures (which penalised the poor) caused by the banking crash we were bombarded whith tories telling us we cannot borrow our way out of problems, we have to live within our means, that fiscal Conservativism was the only way to stimulate the economy, and now we have this massive give away including letting bankers bonuses get out of control again, yes we will have a few years a mini boom but then it will be back cap in hand to the IMF for a bail out and another dacade at least for the country to pay for this folly, these Tories have wasted twelve long years telling us one medicine was good for us and now they want to change the prescription, this is a recipe for disaster and the only comfort i can take from this is i am now nearly seventy and by the time this proflagacy has to be paid for i shall most likely to be dead, i do not envy todays young people as they are going to be paying for this long after i have gone.

Politics / Now we see why boris will not go
« on: July 09, 2022, 01:25:24 PM »
It is reported today that attacks on a Tory leadership contender (Rishi Sunak) have come from number 10 Downing Street, Boris is up to his oft used tactics of throwing grenades into the Parliamentary Democratic process and standing back to watch and revel in the rusulting mayhem both in Parliament and the country, unless we get rid of Boris from number 10 his enduring tenure will continue to cause major problems right up until the point he is finally shown the door.

Politics / Brexit
« on: July 08, 2022, 02:29:49 PM »
As the Brexit nightmare rumbles on Mr Persona (Kier Starmmer) has decided to throw his brexit hat in the ring prompting me to contact our local MP as follows.

Dear Mr Perkins, i write to register my dismay at new the Labour policy of not rejoining the single market or the customs union, if you look at the poll results now that people have had a true taste of what brexit is rather than the lies of Johnson and his band of deluded brexiteers if the vote to leave the EU was to happen today more people would vote to remain than leave, with this in mind it would make more sense to keep the Labour Parties options open, however Mr Persona seems to think different, with this in mind i think the only credible alternative at the next election is to cast my vote for the liberal Party. regards Dave Howard Chesterfield resident

In summation i have not voted for the corrupt and abusive Labour led Council since 2013 and now it seems my Divorce from Labour is absolute..

General Discussion / New Jeremy Kyle documentary
« on: March 15, 2022, 01:33:19 AM »
I hope fans of this Bully will watch this latest Jeremy Kyle exposay, i remember once denouncing him on this very forum and others leaped to his defence claiming he was "helping people".
If i disliked him before this programme i now despise him with a passion, his way of hectoring the poor and vulnerable never sat easy with me however after watching this disgusting excuse of a man i have come to realise that my dislike was just the tip of the iceberg, his condecending and sneering and belittling of ordinary people with serious problems just to enrich himself has led me to the conclusion that he was an abusive monster with a god complex and all i can say of him and his show is Good Riddance.

Chesterfield Discussion / Lifting of Covid 19 Restrictions
« on: February 10, 2022, 12:28:08 AM »
I see on the news that Covid restrictions are to be lifted in a couple of weeks, though on the face of it it is good news, however i wonder if Boris is prepared to put peoples lives at risk just to divert from the problems he has elsewhere only time will tell as we do not know what new or possibly more dangerous variants may be lurking just around the corner.

Politics / B.o.E. says workers should not ask for pay rises.
« on: February 05, 2022, 02:27:01 PM »
The Governer of the Bank of England states that workers should not request pay rises to mitigate rising prices.
What we have here is another self entitled half a million pound a year salaried executive fleecing the system for every last penny they can preaching abstinence to the rest of us, these people clearly do not understand irony or even fairness, it is clear they do not understand or care how ordinary people have to live just as long as they keep getting their half a million pound plus salaries.

Politics / first parties now rescue animals
« on: January 28, 2022, 04:30:41 PM »
I have been hearing the fuss over Boris giving priority to geting rescue animals out of Afghanistan and while i agree that a lot more people at risk should have been airlifted out surely one more plane could have been found for the people as well as the animals, i for one am not going to get annoyed at Boris for rescuing rescue animals from afghanistan as i suspect they would have either have been indiscrimately killed or possibly eaten.

Politics / Labour response to Boris party
« on: January 12, 2022, 02:24:51 PM »
Wihile i think that Boris and his staff have behaved shamefully i hardly think that the labour party trying to hold him to account is very honest as they are not above reproach themselves.
Following is an email i sent to the Prime Minister exoressing my disgust at the hypocrisy and double standards of the Labour Party.

Dear Prime Minister, I watched the disgusting spectacle of the labour party including my own MP  questioning you as to you breaking the rules and subsequently the law as it relates to lockdown rules in 2020, a few years ago my disabled partner and special needs son were viciously attacked by council employed security in our local shopping centre the council and their employees started covering up including lying about what happened and after these guards were prosecuted for their actions the council refused to investigate the actions of their employees until the outcome of the court case, when they did investigate they made numerous promises all of which proved to be lies including one promise to address a list of questions i had, including a question about lies made by a labour councillor in an attempt to cover up the unlawful actions of council employees, to this day those questions have been ignored, how can the labour party try to hold you to account to what they see as your rule breaking when they cannot behave in the way they expect of you, the Labour Party are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.
