I'm not really up with computers or the finer points of running a website. If you own a forum or any other website does it cost more if people upload photos straight to the site you own as Iv noted some sites say you can't upload to their site due to cost or practicality and you have to use a hosting site . Iv been looking at Imgur , Photo bucket and Flickr to me its mind blogging . I'm thinking of having a website for my photos and perhaps a forum for discussion on photography .

Basically yes. The more pictures that are uploaded, the more space you use. Hence the greater cost.
Unlimited space 'servers' are therefore quite expensive.
The forum has it's own PhotoBucket account. See the post above this one.
Your old mate Ironsky managed to post some pics this way before he left the forum and then came back as niche.

Thanks I get the feeling this could end up a very expensive hobby owning a website. Now I understand why other sites disallow direct uploads.

So is it more cost effective for the forum to use your photo bucket Fly?

I've been checking out Wix as it seems to be a free web hosting site. I also need somewhere to showcase some of my pictures. Flickr is OK but its not ideal for what I want. Tumblr slightly better as its more of a blog.
I'll be interested in what everyone else has to say about this. :)
