Shock!! Horror!!  Chris Grayling is cr*p at his job

The vast majority of people knew this just a couple of weeks into him taking up the post.
A couple of weeks ago during P.M.Q.'s a labour m.p. stood up and asked how much the failed Seaborne freight fiasco had cost the taxpayer, Theresa May replied it cost the taxpayer nothing, seemingly she was wrong.
Thanks to "failing Grayling"we have now got to shell out £33million to Eurotunnel purely because they didn't like the way the government was doing business, despite what the Tories say, this is quite obviously hush money to stop the government from having to disclose to the courts the way they are doing business.

Grayling makes even Boris look good

Fun Stuff / A Swiss guy
« Last post by Alsatian on February 28, 2019, 08:22:49 PM »
A Swiss guy, looking for directions, pulls up at a bus stop where two Englishmen are waiting.

"Entschuldigung, koennen Sie Deutsch sprechen?" he says. The two Englishmen just stare at him.

"Excusez-moi, parlez vous Francais?" The man asks. The two continue to stare.

"Parlare Italiano?" No response.

"Hablan ustedes Espanol?" Still nothing.

The Swiss guy drives off, extremely disgusted.

The first Englishman turns to the second and says, "Y'know, maybe we should learn a foreign language...."

"Why?" says the other, "That bloke knew four languages, and it didn't do him any good."

Some scumbag has just pinched a pair of our neighbour’s knickers off the washing line.

She's not bothered about the knickers but she wants the 12 pegs back

Politics / Re: time for another brexit referendum?

Since the leave vote i have been following the polls including the governments poll of polls. now if these are to be beleived the opinion of the people has shifted quite dramaticaly
In any democracy the voters do have the right to change their minds

Exactly.... people are of the opinion that the outcome of leaving the E.U. is infinite i.e. impossible to reverse, not so, unless of course the rest of the E.U. say no.
Every 5 years or so Britain is given a chance to vote on the next government, yet the idea that THIS referendum on the E.U. is the one and only chance we have to choose is just plain silly.
An analogy of this is that if you divide your shopping trips up between Morrisons and Tesco, and the rest of the family prefer Morrisons, so you tell Tesco your not going to shop as often there anymore {if at all}, so Tesco says o.k. then don't ever come into a Tesco store again and if you do you will be charged FULL WHACK for your purchases and charged for parking, and using a trolley!

That would of course never happen, so what's to stop us re joining the E.U.?? {baring in mind we haven't actually left yet!}

Politics / time for another brexit referendum?

Since the leave vote i have been following the polls including the governments poll of polls. now if these are to be beleived the opinion of the people has shifted quite dramaticaly with remain votors being in the majority for well over a year now and at the last count showing a lead over leave of 10%, yet still this discredited government is dogedly sticking to their mantra that it is the will of the people, without actually giving a damn as to what the people do actually want.

It has been three years since the referendum yet these hidebound bufoons cannot comprehend that "the people" may have realised that they have been hoodwinked by the like of Mogg, Gove and Johnson to name just a few and would like to correct a catastrophic mistake.

In any democracy the voters do have the right to change their minds, the only reason the so called brexiteers do not want another referendom on brexit is they fear they will lose as thier lies and deception are less likely to work a second time around, which followed to its logical conclusion suggests they are only interested in their own dogma and not in the wishes of the british voters which they erroneously claim to be standing up for.

My uncle speaks of Silver Sleeve  ::) I had never heard this saying but he explained what it meant ---- eeeewwww,

Does anyone use the word -'brung'? I had never heard of this either until one of my foster children used it.

One of my jobs when growing up was to take the loose carpets chuck them over the washing line and hit them with a hand brush - cough cough - I doubt we will see that done these days!!

Brung I used it and still do "I've brung the washing in" ... "So and so has brung you a present" etc very common round here, probably because were very common round here.

I seem to have found the magic bullet as far as utility chuggers are concerned.
I was walking towards the precinct the other day and there were utility chuggers opposite Mcdonalds, I think they were 1st utility, one of them walked towards me asking who my utility company was, I said Peoples energy, he said "No sorry can't match that" and walked away.
Then just this morning I rounded Steeplegate to be met by utility chuggers opposite Waterstones one approached me and the same thing happened, he just said o.k. and turned on his heels. Eureka!!!!

Even if your not with them give it a try.
