Rants / Council tax
« on: October 23, 2015, 03:49:33 PM »
So as many of you know i started work back in July, full time etc etc.
I had been on benefits for 3 months prior so was getting the usual council tax/housing benefit.
Usuall when receiving such a benefit you get a reduced council tax bill, this was not the case so i was still paying through unemployment the higher part.
Skip ahead to my work and i notify them that i had started work blah blah.
I then asked well why did i never recieve a revised bill....get told that I was £300 up so i had overpaid them.
I then revcieved paper work to state 1) i was still entitled even though i work 40 hrs a week and that 2) I was overpaid by them £600 in housing benefit and £180 council tax...
How on earth in 3 months have i been overpaid and why when i owe them money they demand it or they take me to court?
grrr

Same here.  What annoys me are the people that use it like a diary.
1 min ago - woke up
2 min ago - going to put kettle on
3 min ago - putting milk in the cup
3 min ago - putting sugar in
etc etc etc

Ive got family members (not close) that ive unfollowed due to them posting every 30 seconds.

If only there was a way to block the stupid pictures like 'like in 3 seconds if you wish cancer didnt exist'  Yes i wish cancer didnt exist but liking a post wont make it happen.  These people should spend the time raising money into research

Completely agree. eithe rposting every few minutes or a change of picture every day! I like facebook and am an addict but there are things that I just don't want to see. People probably get fed up with my posts when i make them or pictures but again I don't add or post that often!

Politics / Re: Housing Benefit fraud

Pete
The money initially goes to the family on benefits...its whether they then decide to pay the rent with it thats the question.
When you first fill out the form you can choose does the money go to the landlord straight away or does it go in my bank account....
Having being or applied for benefits in the past i cant see how fraud happens imo

I read a notice a couple of weeks back on what I think used to be the Queens Head - opposite the Halifax.

it said something like Pleasure club for men opening soon - whatever that is

It did open as Krystals but I don't think it did too well so closed a bit ago.
Not heard anything since though...

crap really.
I love the cobbles in the market it's what makes it authentic.
As for the pavement up near the rank it does need to go altogether, no need for it really make it better to access for the older folk.
Good on the Missus though on helping the ladies mum both of you will go out of your way to help and it does get noticed..

General Discussion / Re: Toughest place you lived at?
« on: July 18, 2015, 08:48:14 AM »
I wouldn't say any place i lived was particularly rough lived in Shuttlewood, bolsover Model village in carrvale and now town. However if i go by what the worst was from my point of view this was Shuttlewood, this comes from a personal point though as I was pretty miserable down there. But never had to deal with any drunks, drugs or crime. Now you only have to walk through town to be met with that...

Bricking myself for moday as I go "live" basically they let me loose on the phones taking calls.
I would rather work in a contact centre for inbound calls rather than cold calling I hate it with a passion!

This was a very short notice thing, They rang me on monday I started tuesday
Initially it lasts for 1 month this is to hopefully get their call volumes down after the whole autoglass thing that was on watch dog.
It's a full time roll so been working 8:30-5 this week and the same next week.
