UKIP The New Forth Mainstream Party?
« on: October 14, 2014, 09:47:20 AM »
Its been all smiles lately for Mr Farage winning a seat in Parliament . I'm not a fan of Farage or of UKIP to me they are just a set of disgruntled Tories with a leader I cant take seriously at the best of times but that could be said of Cameron too. With the Liberals on the wain and getting the blame for handing the keys of number ten to Cameron it could be possible that UKIP could replace the Liberals as the third party or at best become a forth party in Parliament.

The difficulty I have with UKIP is that the other parties are all too busy telling me why I shouldn't vote UKIP rather than  why I should vote for them. If I'm a labour supporter I'm told they will just prop up the Tories. If I'm a Tory supporter I'm told they will hand labour power because the right wing vote will be split. If I'm lib dem I'm told ........... Well nothing actually because Clegg knows he's screwed either way.
The other problem is that if as the mainstream parties claim there's no real issue with immigration or Europe and dismiss it as a protest vote why are they all falling over themselves to pander to the protest rather than stick to their guns?

The political front is changing, we can all see that.
The main parties as have been for years need to get their heads out of their ar$$e$ and starting really thinking about the points JR has brought up - Europe and immigration.

They are on the face of things too complacent in issues which need looking into and also to actually admit that UKIP may well indeed present a problem for them.

So many people are admitting that we don't seem to have a political leader out of the top 3 who would do a decent job, so that leaves UKIP - it's going to be a very interesting election.

I'm afraid I disagree.

I too am disillusioned with the main three party leaders - but I am more disillusioned with old tortoise face Farage - a super Tory with very few real policies, but worse by far than the Cons themselves.

I don't know whether he is a dangerous man or just a complete tw*t - or is he both?

I am seriously thinking of not voting...
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I reckon UKIP have yet to set out more of their stall, and it will interesting to see what else they come up with.
They do seem to be gathering supporters, why?
Maybe because like you and i people are fed up and disillusioned by it all.

I doubt many trust Cameron - he's a bully boy!

Milliband - no! He needs kicking out and let someone else have a go - who have they got who may put up a good fight?? Anyone you can think of?

As for Nick Clegg - no chance.

Like you I have considered not voting - still we have awhile yet so as I say I will wait with interest to see what happens in the run up to the Election.

If I do vote it will be for the Green party - their policies are ones I actually agree with.

I know very little about the Green Party Pete, but will read up on them.
Doubt if they would stand a chance of getting in though.

When they formed 10 years ago UKIP didn't stand a chance of getting in - everyone has to start somewhere.

Plus voting for a party I don't believe in is rather hypocritical...
