Clay Cross roadworks
Sorastro:
Went to Tesco C/C this morning traffic was queuing back from the Tesco petrol station r/bout right back to near the Royal Oak pub so did a u turn and went through Holmgate.
They have the traffic lights on the island working now and it's absolute bedlam, we were there about 8:45 am so if your going to C/C or just passing through stick to the side roads.
Old Cruser:
I used Hepthorne Lane way to get to Tesco. I had a text from my gp advising to set off early or lose appointment because of this issue.
Sorastro:
The r/bout at Tesco petrol station has new traffic lights and has recently had road markings put on it which looks like a mini version of Horns bridge r/about.
That's the trouble IT'S TOO SMALL!! you get two cars on the r/about waiting at the lights and the r/about is full, it's going to cause bedlam. Horns bridge is a pain in the rear but at least it has the size on it's side.
Old Cruser:
I actually laughed when I first saw all the lights round that roundabout.
It looked ridiculous.
Yesterday on my way back from the vets heading towards Tupton they were ON.
I was fortunate as my approach was on Green so apart from a slow crawl up to them I went through ok.
The other way from Tupton there were vehicles stood all the way to the MacDs roundabout.
I'll be using Hepthorne Lane way into Clay Cross more often!7
Sorastro:
We've just got back from Tesco C/C and they are on, coming round the r/about back towards the Mcdonalds r/about the traffic coming from town was backed up to way past the car wash.
This means not only will it be bad for drivers coming out of the petrol station, it will cause congestion for those coming out of Aldi.
This is due to the fact that when it was just a r/about drivers approaching it had a more relaxed and tolerant attitude to other drivers pulling out, now by adding lights it changes, everybody wants to beat the lights so tolerance goes on the back burner.
I'll give it a week before there's a road rage incident or an accident {or both}.
