All DCC employees I.e. paid for by you & I out of council tax. Or are the Beetwell st private & therefore subject to different terms of physical engagement to the regular police?

General Discussion / Re: is this what brexit means

As a leave voter I'm very much disappointed at the way the Theresa May Government have approached Brexit. They have capitulated to every "plan" from the EU negotiations subsequently rebuked.
All I would say is don't believe everything you read or see on media outlets.
Both sides of the Brexit argument have been guilty of overstating what will happen - and continue to do so!
Let's see what happens - I feel further complications ahead and delays.
Eu will do everything they can to block our leaving because we contribute so much - as I see it.

Nail on head as usual - speedway!
Bear in mind that vehicles are entering this roundabout coming off dual carriageways at speed.
Fine if you are in your car and can (even stopped) pull away safely given the chance.
Larger vehicles however incur the anger and insult when pulling out because it hinders car drivers their progress.
If it makes for free flowing traffic from each junction - then it should work. Hopefully.
Personally I like it when the traffic lights don't work in the town centre & drivers revert to using common sense!

I've never been built for speed on land, but was pretty good at swimming at school. But that is a long time ago.I can still swim- albeit at a much fairer and not competitive pace :P

Gets a bit "parky" at evenings on a late shift. I turned the heating on because the "senior citizens" were closing the windows.
Hey Ho ;)

So - how would you repeal the system - bearing in mind this is not just Chesterfield?
A NONE vote as a protest does not work - your voice is not heard one way or another.
If the system of council elections does not fit your choice - try & change it - plenty of petitions you can instigate to Government - I'm sure you are aware of them.
You have not mentioned a specific in terms of what changes should be made or suggested otherwise, and as such I can't help you otherwise in your lack of going further on this point.
Although eloquently worded - I think you will find this is the way the system works and it won't change for a long time yet.
If you don't vote - there is no change - Simple!

I have absolutely no issues with our forces getting their medals/ honors etc. They serve our country very well and deserve recognition for this.
I also think they should be looked after better once out of the forces.
I certainly think that service personel once leaving the Armed Forces should have the support they need to re-integrate into civilian life. Very often they suffer from personal & life changing problems which need addressing rather than them going in to meltdown.
They put their lives on the line for us after all.

I had a large Stella cylindrical tin - bottle or tin & maybe a glass to drink it with - the problem being I have not been able to explore its inner wonderment yet!
Yes, I can open the lid, but there is a plastic insert which so far has refused to budge!

Seemingly there are 25 petitions on Facebook to try & stop this.
There must be a more worthy recipient I would have thought (not Mr Farage).
Controversial one certainly.
