Chesterfield Discussion / Delays at Horns Bridge
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:43:09 PM »
Sounds like more chaos is on the way when the new £300.000 sculpture is brought and placed on the roundabout.
I can't see a date though - does anyone know when this will be ?

I actualy had a call from the Twin Oaks shortly after my last post, they were one of the venues who hadn't replied.
It seems the chap had been on holiday and my email had gone into his junk mail.

One venue wanted a minimum of FOUR GRAND!

Not wanting a cheapo do but 4 grand is a bit much I thought!!

Chesterfield Discussion / Cut in the motorway speed
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:34:51 PM »
The go slow on the motorway has been scrapped - it won't happen!!
I know this will please some of you.

I just think the 70 MPH should be enforced more than it seems to be.

Mission Complete!! ;)

Disappointing how many didn't bother to reply to my queries.
It costs nothing.

Viewed and booked the Brampton Manor this afternoon, quite a pretty and private setting, just the finer details to sort out.
Thanks for all the replies folks much appreciated

Chesterfield Discussion / Re: County Offices up for sale?

It's on the teletex Andy think £157 million was quoted?
I know they have been selling buildings and squashing social services staff in to 'share a desk' but the County offices?
How many work there any idea?

Chesterfield Discussion / County Offices up for sale?

Is this right does anyone know or just a rumour.
We have just been told the DCC County Offices in Matlock are up for sale.

We have looked and it is actually on teletex!
There are an awful lot of people working there!

We are exploring opportunities to use our land for renewable energy projects to generate money.

We recently hosted an energy collaboration seminar at County Hall in Matlock which other local authorities attended to look at the potential of transforming former industrial land for energy projects.

The event was organised through the Association for Public Service Excellence which is a not for profit local government body which helps local authorities improve services, in association with the Town and Country Planning Association and the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Authorities Energy Partnership.

Our Deputy Cabinet Member for Council Services, Councillor John Owen said:

It was great to host the first energy collaboration seminar to discuss the benefits and opportunities of developing renewable energy projects to generate money.

"We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint in Derbyshire and will be working closely with other local authorities to share best practices which will benefit everyone."

Over the next year we will look at identifying land it owns which could be used.

Once chosen a decision will be made on what it will be used for but it could include turning it into an energy farm with solar panels generating energy which is sold to the national grid.

We may also consider investing in other local authorities' renewable energy schemes as a different way to generate an income while promoting a low carbon economy.

Anyone know where the potential sites for these may be?
I seem to remember something about a Solar Panel farm being discussed on here.

I have been told 'Headway' in Cornwall is losing funding from the local council and I'm wondering if Chesterfield will follow.
It will be devastating for the brain injured people in our district if this does happen.

Nope she wouldn't be - it's mine and an original.
I wear it for the formal nights on cruises.
The men always want to see what's underneath it  ::)
