Hello everyone and thank you to Pete for saying we can place this advert.  (y)

Would anyone like to buy a copy of my husband's book? It is all about the childhood of a boy in the 1960s coalfields area, North Wingfield, Grassmoor, Holmewood etc. It is autobiographical, humorous, nostalgic and easy to read.
You can buy it from most good bookshops including Waterstones, Clay Cross Cards, Book Store Brierlow Bar and Scarthin Books. Or on line direct from us. £7.95 inc free p&p.

Please have a look on our website for more information:

Thank you!

May be worth giving a mention on the Old Chesterfield Pics page on Facebook as that has a lot of members that enjoy nostalgia

Hi Barbara and welcome to the forum.
I used to buy my late father books on Chesterfield, Clay Cross and the pits as he was a miner.
I will certainly buy the book from Clay Cross as that was where I bought for my father - and I might add enjoyed reading them myself  ;)

Thank you to everyone for the welcome  (y)
We have been members of the Facebook Old Pics Chesterfield and have had some lovely chats with people on there about the book. We are so lucky to have such lovely people interested in Peter's work both from readership and stocking the book's point of view. We are looking forward to having more friends on here too  :D
