Title: Internet Service Providers

Is it just me that thinks the web is getting slower because service providers are crap?

I've got some good kit but I couldn't watch a Youtube music video tonight without it stopping and starting.

I've had YouTube problems lately but running Speedtest download result is still around 6 so what is affecting it?

A lot are trying to get people over to DLM (Dynamic Line Management) so your line is 100% stable.  Currently the majority of lines are only 70% stable.

Ive just ordered my new router from Orange which is for DLM so hopefully the internet link wont drop anymore when im in the middle of something.

Ive just upgraded with Orange to a new router.

Im now getting about 15mb speeds.  Not bad considering my line only supposedly supports up to 8mb.

Will they update a modem if there is nothing wrong with the one you already have - other that it is an old model?
Heres the Jeremy Clarkson description of my modem "its grey and like a wedge of cheeeese"

Ive now got a Bright Box which is nice and compact.  There was nothing wrong with my Livebox but the new router is DLM so more reliable.  Only downside was I signed for another 12 month contract.
