We are gearing up for this Thursdays presentation. Andrew Bagshaw has sent me a photo of Tupton band Tupton Telstars bus they used - it's brought back some lovely memories.
As usual we will have someone out on the pavement to direct traffic up the lane as it's easily missed.
We decided to buy some cakes and tarts instead of biscuits seeing as it's coming up the Santa time - why not!  ;) (y)

Sadly we are at risk from others and yes Trump is all mouth and yellow hair.
I'm just off to start digging our bunker!

So hopefully we have survived yesterdays torrential rain without any flooding?
We are high up in our village so don't get a problem. I felt so sorry for those who were desperately trying to keep water out of their homes!

They shouldn't have done what they did - it's time they started with the adverts! I'm not a lover of them but I love my money more!

General Discussion / Re: The dreaded car b/down insurance & insurance
« on: November 15, 2025, 02:05:48 PM »
Just in the process of renewing my home contents insurance, I got a renewal letter saying the premium had gone DOWN by £2 {steady on!}.

Was renewing it and got a text from them saying they don't have my payment details, I have spent over 2 days trying to speak to a human to give them my card details but all I get is a robotic answering machine that doesn't ask the right questions so I tried the online messaging and after asking me about a dozen questions after I sent a simple "Can I give you my card details" his side went quiet so I gave up. I just whisked off a don't bother message this morning to them because I've now gone elsewhere.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest ! They obviously don't want your custom!

Not the Market area in particular but Chesterfield as a whole.
WHY, do people take their dogs on long leads  around the town
Twice today I've had to dodge a dogs lead whilst the owner was oblivious  that their sweet little pooch was about to wrap its  lead round my legs

Yes, that sums it up, it will be decided in meetings and that's the end of
it.
We were in town yesterday, I had my first look at thd Market s
quare.
Tes it looks lovely, less cobbles whjcb us helpful for some but retains thd 'cobbled street look'
More seatjng.
Spacious.
Cleverly designed to detract from the smaller number of stalls.
Or is that an illusion?
Answers on a postcard please just a Yes or No :))

Never watched him TBH.
I'm just boring.
Enjoy the two soaps, and even the classic ones which I record.
Documentaries
The odd film
That's about it!

I employ several staff and am now expected to conduct a 'right to work' scrutiny.
Our N.I. numbers should automatically provide our identities surely.
