« on: September 03, 2023, 11:03:58 PM »
Just had to say our house is now all done up for Halloween. On september 1st me and my mum got the Halloween stuff out and decorated the front room the kitchen and the dining room and it looks absolutely fantastic.  Just love Halloween it's so much better than Christmas.

Since I found this wonderful Chesterfield online site I've often wondered just how many people I could know who's from the chesterfield area. I mean I was born in chesterfield and went to three different schools there and knew people where I used to live who they still live there now. I do sometimes go on the manor school Facebook page to see what is going on and who is still talking about the school days.

The following teachers who I remember. Mr Hutchinson, Mr Davies, Mr Wilkes, manor. Mr Greenway, Mrs Briggs, Mr staton, miss Marriott, miss Clarke Brampton junior. Mr pilkington, Mr king, oh god I can't think of any more. Well I went to Brampton junior manor and Nobby green. Can anyone else add any teacher's they remember. Ah Mrs turner, Mrs hillam.

General Discussion / Lucy letby guilty
« on: August 20, 2023, 06:16:04 PM »
Following the trial of Lucy letby it's about time that more checks were made about people who are going to work within hospitals and are supposed to be caring. The families of the innocent babies who were killed at the hands of that letby woman they will forever be in my thoughts. How can anyone imagine just what the parents of them innocent babies are going through. The babies could have still been with their parents and that letby woman stopped from doing what she was. Other Drs said that they had informed hospital management yet the management warned other doctors to not say anything else about letby, she was just another Beverley allitt who also went on to harm children in her care. Something needs to be done within the nhs to stop this from ever happening again which shouldn't ever have even happened in the first place. The thing that also gets me about this is that letby is refusing to go to her own sentencing and that one of the people who worked in one of the hospitals she was in gets themselves a £1.5 million pension pot. The UK is an absolute disgrace when it comes to things like this. The justice system needs a massive overhaul as does the NHS, too many people going in to a job just to harm others they shouldn't be allowed near hospitals or vulnerable people and innocent children and babies. You could tell by looking at her on the news what kind of person she was and for her when she was arrested to say she had knee surgery oh for crying out loud it's nothing to what that evil as she described herself as being did to the innocent babies. Hope she gets life without parole and never sees the light of day again.

Rants / The Christmas stuff is already in the shops.
« on: August 15, 2023, 09:34:49 PM »
Absolutely ridiculous. There we were me and my mum. We went to a town in Northumberland called Morpeth, nothing special not like chesterfield is with the beautiful crooked spire and queens park and the variety of shops, oh sorry I digress and there it was the Christmas stock is on the shelves in August. I was like having a proper panic attack by seeing such hideous stuff. My mum was like look at this and I was like nearly out of the shop. I felt like I was going to pass out just by seeing a pack of Christmas cards and other things. Then someone walks past singing Christmas songs and saying how many days it is until Christmas, DO THESE PEOPLE NOT HAVE A LIFE. So my mum comes out of the shop and asks what is happening and I said eventually, I'm having a panic attack by seeing Christmas stock in August she said to me that's not the half of it the easter eggs are also in the upstairs stock room and one of the shop assistants told her. Why do the shops have to do this when the schools are still closed for the summer. Now the Halloween things yes that is different but Christmas nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Rants / Dentist's not taking on NHS patients
« on: August 01, 2023, 06:48:25 PM »
Last week I bit in to a alpen bar and it had fudge pieces in it. The pain went straight up in to one of my teeth but I didn't think anything of it. Later in the day a piece of the tooth broke off, it was horrible and it took me two days to eat anything. I had phoned the dentist and was told I was no longer registered and I had to either pay for a private appointment and it would cost £120 and that would include x rays on the teeth a check up and possibly they can repair the broken tooth within that half hour appointment or I could go on the nhs waiting list so I am 776 in the list and it could be two years away from being seen. Found one nhs dentist where I live about 13 miles away and they said they can do it for £25:80 but they said phone back in mid September. The UK has hit rock bottom as of ages ago. This country is so depressing and when you have a severe mental illness it makes me wonder that I would be better going upstairs early. I was watching Nicky Campbell the other week and people are pulling out their teeth themselves how they can do that in the first place is unbearable and what is it then going to cost them for the damage they have done. Can we not just push the Tories off the planet altogether.  Never again will I eat alpen bars again.

Rants / I just can't stand the north east of England at all
« on: July 20, 2023, 11:24:09 PM »
Right so it's not my fault none of this. I've said this before and I'm going to say it again. I just don't like the north east of England or Northumberland.

Yes I have tried to move from here but got nowhere. Its not that easy. Having been up in this part of the country for way too many years and it is absolutely too many years, (why couldn't my dad have just married a chesterfield woman instead of a woman from the north east of England it would have been much better,  and no disrespect to my mum by the way when I say that) I would not be now typing this from Northumberland but I would have still been in chesterfield I know that I would. My dad even though he's dead he won't mind me saying that either about still being in chesterfield.

I mean take today for example me and my mum went out and it took about 5 minutes to look in the shops thats because there are very few here but they are also overpriced as many are but there isn't any variety of shops and when one food shop hasn't got what you need then it's off on a bus again the only bonus is that the bus fares are £2 at the moment. Getting back to Northumberland why just why. They go on and on about beaches up here like wow some sand and water then people just take their dogs there and let them off the leads and they run across to you and the owners of the dog say nothing when you are trying to keep out of the way of a out of control dog. Then in Northumberland the local people go on about some castles again wow ( chesterfield has the famous crooked spire which is much more interesting thanks) we went to one of the castles once and it was a right boring day it was just rooms full of tea cups and saucers behind glass cabinets we never went back i wasn't really bothered about going but my mum wanted to go.

So all I say is this chesterfield or Northumberland for me chesterfield all the time. I really did think that I would have moved back by now but it's just not that easy. Be greatful for what you still have in chesterfield because in this town I'm in it's like a ghost town.

General Discussion / Boots stores closing
« on: July 02, 2023, 08:56:47 PM »
So boots have said that they will be closing stores. Where are you supposed to get a prescription from then if there isn't another chemist that does prescriptions. I mean up in the north of England there is a small boots which could be one of the many ones to close and the next boots is then 11 miles away and by bus for me. It's also that people who are elderly use boots for their prescriptions and also other people. So what are we supposed to do. People go online to get other things but you can't get a prescription online. Just what is this country coming to and just how many more shops are going to be closing. Every other week on the news it's announced that more places are to close. Recently I've read about the following places closing, boots, Iceland's, different named banks, Wilko's, trespass, plus others.

Hello to my fellow chesterfield residents, hope you are all well, hopefully be coming to visit soon😀  take care everyone.

Rants / The coronation
« on: March 19, 2023, 10:54:04 PM »
So it's the coronation in may. It's going to cost the UK an absolute fortune. People are being encouraged to have street parties and get together to watch this as I'll say rubbish. I mean each to their own and all that but who's not looking forward to this ridiculous pomp and hype. Bank holiday and nothing to do just because he's being crowned along with her. What a total waste of money time and effort. Will chesterfield being getting together to have street parties or will people being doing something completely different. I know one thing I won't be watching any of it or having any street party. COST OF LIVING CRISIS.

Rants / The police in the uk
« on: February 18, 2023, 11:32:42 PM »
I'm sick to death of seeing on the news the way that police officers are in different forces across the UK. It's disgusting that so many of them that are employed in a job to provide the public a service are doing things that they shouldn't be doing.

How many more times are we going to have to read or hear about another one who has raped another woman. We are still hearing about couzens who again has been in the news for more disgusting things he's done. Then there was Carrick who was another met police officer getting up to the same kind of disgusting things for over 20 years before the police did anything to stop him and there is many more.

They join a job to as they say provide a service to the public when you may need to phone them for a burglary only to hear that most of the police have been in the past arrested for burglary themselves yet they are still employed in the police force. Why does the UK have police forces with so many corrupt people in them yet nothing is done to route out these people. When they do get found out it's too late for the victims and their families and most of the police who are doing wrong just deny what they have been up to and get a warning from their bosses. It's about time the police force had a overhaul and they started being their for the public instead of doing nothing but still being paid.

Also I wish that newspapers would stop printing the images of the police who have done wrong. The news keeps doing the same, how many people want to see them on the news or in newspapers it's an insult to the families and victims and the papers and news should stop showing them disgusting ex police who have done wrong.

General Discussion / More shops announced for closure.
« on: February 11, 2023, 07:13:38 PM »
Again on the news more shops announced for closure. Tk maxx is now another to start. 3 are going to close in  the coming weeks. I was in tk the other day in Newcastle upon Tyne 30 miles on a bus because like I said where I live has nothing, anyway while looking in tk I couldn't find one thing for myself to buy. There may have been enough to look at but it would take forever to go through rail after rail. The prices are also getting ridiculous on top of the bus fare I could have just stayed at home (well actually home is chesterfield but I'm not back yet) and gone on the Website and saved myself the time and trouble of being on a bus traveling 30 miles for nothing. Also tk were selling a jar of popcorn at £9:99 i was thinking why would anyone pay that for a jar of popcorn. Then I was looking at the luggage a small suitcase was £56:99 what a rip off because in Primark they were only £38:00 and were better quality. In the end my mum bought some kitchen items in tk but I got nothing. Looking around Newcastle upon Tyne and seeing empty shops it's just like one shop after the next and yes while some people can go online as I can there is the people who can't. I could have done with just getting on the train from Newcastle to chesterfield and never coming back to Northumberland but well I didn't. Hopefully I'm due a trip to chesterfield soon, well depending on the train's that is. Can't wait to get back to chesterfield so I better get saving up for the train and hotel. See chesterfield soon and all my fellow chesterfield friends.

saw in the news that chesterfield has been named the most stressful place to live. What a load of complete nonsense. You can be stressed any place no matter where you are but to say chesterfield is the most stressful is just ridiculous. Anyone else got any views on this.

Chesterfield Discussion / My chesterfield accent I find it unique.
« on: January 12, 2023, 11:44:10 PM »
As some people now know on here I am chesterfield born and bred but now live in the north east of England ☹️😭 yes it's that bad for me, anyway the thing is a lot of people don't recognise the chesterfield accent and people say you are more Yorkshire well I mean I could have gone off It when I heard that. Yorkshire is nearly 11 miles from chesterfield and I am not a Yorkshire pudding soz to say that but it's true that is what people from Yorkshire get called but I don't say that about them, Brian turner the chef did, anyway what do other people think about the chesterfield accent.

Also one last thing when people call the crooked spire the twisted spire that gets on my nerves.

I am proud I was born in chesterfield at Scarsdale hospital and even more proud of my accent and hometown. Chesterfield till I die. God bless chesterfield and all who live there.
