Blimey - they still had those buses running when I was a kid.  Where the bus is pictured used to be my bus stop  :D

There was a cannabis factory in Inkersall a few years ago.  An empty house on Hillman Drive or Stanley Avenue (can't recall which one) Chinese, or Vietnamese people again it would seem.  Someone must have noticed the pong eventually - it's rather unique!   :)

It was on the news last night and showed Tapton Business Park (where S & J Kitchin used to be) on Brimington Road.  It's incredible what went on under our noses and we knew nothing  ???

Or The ' Vic ' Underground.... run by, if I remember right .. Dave McPerson
Saw... Yes , The Strawbs , Family there amongst others

Blimey, The Vic was my stompin ground from 1963 to 1967.  Anyone who was anyone pitched up there at some point.  Dave Berry was a regular, The Moody Blues, Small Faces, Merseybeats for example.  I even saw Bill Haley and The Comets there around 1968.

Happy days  ;D

Not sure how local "Black over Bill's Mother's"is. I've seen it listed as East Midlands but also Birmingham. Wondered what origin is.

No idea, but I say it all the time   :-\

Yep - me too. I feel lucky that my teenage years were 1963 (when the Beatles and Rolling Stones started) until 1969 - great years for music - especially if you knew the kind of crap that was around before. ;)

Yay - and me!

Mr B and I are celebrating our Ruby Wedding anniversary this month and thoughts have turned to a holiday later in the near.  We have a fancying for Northern Cyprus, perhaps Kyrenia.  Has anyone been there?  If so, do you have any suggestions, comments or advice for us?  Can you suggest a decent travel operator who deals with Northern Cyprus?  I've looked at a few and they all seem a bit of a muchness.  I was wondering if one in particular was better than the others.

 :D :D

Another cruise

Sure you want to?    ???

I was booked to fly on a Pan Am plane when Lockerbie happened!! It was one of the safest plane I've ever flown on given the levels of security. I flew to the states 13 months after 9/11. Same principle. The ships I go on do their safety briefings before they leave port (not one day after) they do them in English (not 5 different languages so that by the time you get to the English all the other nationalities are chattering their heads off and you can't hear) and they are staffed by Captain's who have worked their way up through Seamanship not been appointed as head of Security and promoted in line with the Peter principle!! So yes I will be going!!!!

Good for you.  Hope you enjoy!  I don't know the background of the captain of the Concordia so its come as a surprise you saying about him being Head of Security.  BUT I do know plenty of people who were promoted beyond their capabilities (Drucker).  I met them when they were on their way down  ;D

Well, I've taken on board everyone's comments from their experiences.  From now on I'll plan things better and be very choosy.   :-[

Yesterday, stupid me parked on the Donut for quickness just because I wanted to nip across to The Party Shop to collect something.  I hardly ever park there and didn't realise that the fee was £2.10 and machine didn't give change.  So not only did it cost 60p more than the multi storey, I ended up paying £3 (no change) for parking there for less than 10 mins.

A mistake I won't make again.

.............before nodding

Is that a euphemism for some kind of sexual practice?  ;D

Nice set and price Barry!

Nodding's not so bad.  "Nodding Dogging" on the other hand ... :D

Don't you just love Aitch's humour?  If she hadn't been the first to say it I might have been  :)

Having thought about this all day, I reckon we should adopt a "fresh start" philosophy and not act it's some sort of fracas that we can't get over.

The old forums are Chris's and he can run them how he wants - the new forum is just an alternative without the aggressive moderation, where members can debate and discuss all issues without fear of being snipped.

If I had to suggest a general rule for this forum, it would be "Play Nice". :)

Hear, hear - and about time  :)
