Remembrance Day Poppies
« on: November 02, 2014, 07:54:13 PM »
I learnt something yesterday that I didn't know. To wear a poppy correctly the leaf should be pointing towards 11o'clock for obvious reasons.

Does it matter?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I gave up with poppies keep losing them. I buy the cross for my great uncle Fred who was killed in the Great War.

Long standing joke Ironsky between me and some forum members. I've had the same poppy for a few years.
I always donate to the charity, but don't see the reason in taking a new poppy every year. I store my old one under the steering column of the taxi :-)
Looks like I'll be buying a new one this year and putting it in my tax disk holder. Got no other use for it now :-)
Tax disk holder that is ;-)

Fly: the British legion have latched on to that fact. They've come up with a poppy holder to sit where the tax disc holder now sits. Would you like me to get you one?

I was agreeing with you  :))
I wasn't implying 'you' were being disrespectful.

I was wondering why it mattered how the poppy is displayed. If you buy a poppy you've given money to the British Legion, surely that's enough. I don't know why Fly said "And respect costs nowt". Makes no sense to me. Still doesn't.  :-?
