We have housemartins nesting at our house now.  Came home from work earlier and they were noiser than usual.  Looked up and they were looking at me, so camera out, zoom in and...

Did I mention I'd bought a new Sony Bridge Camera. It's Simon's camera's little brother.
They're both 20 meg pixel, mines 35x zoom, his is 63x zoom.

Zoom in .

This is a photoshop zoom of the second shot.

I prefer the picture quality over the zoom. I can see me and this camera getting on OK  :)

Had a walk round the pond near Dobbies at Barlbrough. Parked at the back of the NHS building.

Our_Lass saw this, it was hanging on a twig .  .

Photoshop zoom.

Photoshop zoom.

Photoshop zoom.

So what is it ?
I also learnt something today, sort of.
Zooming into a well took captured shot is better than trying to zoom into the subject you are taking a shot of.

Not a bird's nest. We saw some more smaller ones dotted about the place too.

Not really up on insect nests Fly, apart from wasps ( which by the way I haven't seen many of this year thank goodness!! ).

It looks like a slug has been round it  :)

These flowers are the last ones flowering in my garden right now.  They are such a lovely colourful sight out of my kitchen window. I think they are Osteospermums. If anyone can identify them differently do let me know.

Took this at Ladybower today.  I was astonished to find the water levels so low at this time of year.  I don't want to pray for a deluge, but it sure looks like it could use a lengthy spell of rain to get the levels up.
