That's interesting Fly, I notice there is one in Clay Cross as well, however the one I have seen posted isn't on the list I wonder if it's newly started.
Handy I wonder if Morrisons then distribute the donated food/toiletries or if there is a charity which is organising it?

Quite right pureparty. Thing is we have a post office in our village and we are hardly going to travel in Chesterfield to use the one there.

Chesterfield Discussion / Food Banks
« on: March 01, 2013, 03:31:02 PM »
I was really quite taken aback this morning when I read on a poster that in our village there is a food bank.
Silly really and I don't know why I should have been baring the recent times we are going through.
I know of them in cities - just never brought it closer to home in my mind.
How do these food banks work?
Can people just drop in and collect food without being checked as to if they need it - I know of a few who would take advantage - would give them more for booze and fags!
Really sad times we are sinking into - yet money is still being given away to other countries  :(

Take away the market and it's a bit sparse - unless you know the layout of shops.
Chesterfield is spread out and many visitors won't realise this (or maybe want to leg it around) - how many for instance would find falcon Yard?
Maybe not much down there but it's just an example.

Good grief surly people on your street know what you do?
Seems you can't have a sh --- break in piece these days, as you say the police followed it through though

@ JR my thoughts exactly - I am sure they would have done their homework on that!
Interesting though that they 'may' be a contender for the co-op? I suppose it's about the size one would maybe expect from Debenhams

OT. That was the last job I did apart from my school contract  ;)
Overall, not actually a bad day  :)

Business a bit slow on Thursday's then. I suppose you will make up for it on another day

It seems Sports direct are taking over the Republic shop in Chesterfield, whether they intend to open another S/D or keep the Republic clothes shop open is unclear from the news paper report?
Maybe someone else could enlighten us on this
