Local Police, I'm impressed.
« on: February 28, 2013, 07:15:41 PM »
Got home from work today. Been in the house about half hour and the bloke from 3 doors away came to the door.
Apparently he'd seen the police call at our house 3 times during the day.
He nipped out on their third visit and asked if he could be of help.

He told me, the police were chasing up on a possible missing person.
Their car had been seen parked somewhere for a length of time.
He told the police he'd seen me and Our_Lass leave for work this morning ???

Half hour later, bout 5.00pm, I saw a police car pull up outside our house.
I nipped down the path to speak to the officer.
'Can I be of help officer', I said.
'Are you of number **', the officer replied.
'That I am sir, and so is the wife', I said pointing to Our_Lass stood grinning at us from the room window.
'I presume this is about the missing owner of a car', I said.
'It's worse than that' he said,  'The person who phoned us would hate to think the owner of the car isn't laid dead in bed,

'Right, let me explain', I said.
'The car in question is reg number ***, it's parked at ****. and is registered in my wife's name, it's taxed tested and paid for, we both work for this taxi firm and as you can see, we bring the taxi's home on a regular basis. Obviously some kind resident has seen our car parked up and thought the worst'

Had a few minutes having a laugh with the officer, and off he went.
Apparently, the police get a huge number of calls about 'abandoned' vehicles, and have to chase every one up.

Yes, I'm impressed. Police in Chesterfield get a call, and a local police officer makes 4 calls to a house in Bolsover.
Big up for Derbyshire Constabulary. Credit where it's due  :)

Our car is parked up in Chesterfield OC.  That's where the report was filed from  ;)
Like I said, respect to the police.
Sorry if I didn't make my previous post clearer.
