Very busy. We arrived there about 1.00pm, had a table for 10 booked.
One of the first things I noticed was the amount of food left on the huge plates that were being removed from tables by staff.
Staff, all very pleasant, and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Just glad many of the menu's options had a, 'Light bite', option, at a cheaper price, prob 30% reduction.
Wasn't the price that bothered me, just the waste from people overloading their plates from the carvery available.
If you like your veg cooked
If you like meat/fish
Ok, MIL's steak looked a bit tough for a sirloin.
My 'Light Bite', Steak and Kidney pie, with chips, and (raw veg), was bang on, good meat, not grisly fat stuff. £6.50
Our lass had the,' Light Bite', carvery. Beef, pork, yorky pud, (bit soft and chewy), (raw veg), etc. £5.85
We'd took our own cake for the MIL to blow out the candles from, all 5 of them. (70 odd missing).
The staff even presented it to the MIL on a cake stand, and let us eat it in their premise on their crockery. No charge.
So basically, thumbs up for the Hardwick Arms Inn from us.
