Derbyshire County Councillor on fiddle charges

Sinking to a new low if it includes pinching charity money. This is the bloke who would have presented my long service award last year (had I not been busy with the council election on the same night.

Technically the Tories no longer have an overall majority on the county which can be useful for stopping the Youth Service cuts

Really? How? Would be very interested in that.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Robin Baldry, having had the Tory Whip taken away, is listed as an Independent. He will remain as a councillor unless found guilty. The balance is therefore Tories 32, the rest 32.

Any suggestions as to how the general public can help fight the youth club closures?

Public opinion may sway it.

There was a packed meeting at Hasland last thursday. Unfortunately a councillor did not attend he sent a council officer in his place. It is unethical for members of staff to have to defend political decisions such as this.

The online petition www.tinyurl.com/soysDCC has 1457 signatures so far. There should be hundreds (hopefully thousands) of written ones to come in. It needs 7500 to force a full debate so please spread the link or the youtube one Save our Youth Service - Derbyshire County Council where possible.

Good support from the media, Andy Kershaw at Radio Sheff and Michael Broomhead at the DT have attended meetings.
