>> Its about time politicians stopped lying, and accepted some responsibility.

Why break with centuries of tradition?  ;)

PS, I was going to answer JRs post above about cuts, but it would have been too long, and I've had a long day, but we could start by stopping wasting money on wars that no-one wants.

Good idea! Oh by the way how many people in the armed forces and the defence industry did you just make redundant?

You can't make an omlette without breaking eggs.

True but what you've done is cut current levels of expenditure but added to the problem of unemployment and a stagnent economy. Which won't help when it comes to paying off debt.

Not necessarily. They can be used in all sorts of ways, peace keeping in places where wars have finished, (such as Bosnia, etc), humanitarian work, infrastructure development, aid, domestic use, for example when there's rioting. Patrolling the  seas where there are pirates... a growing problem.
we need the forces for all sorts of reasons, but I don't think fighting other peoples war is one of them, (and if we are going to act as the worlds police man, then it needs global support and funding.)
