The only chap i know from tupton was Alvin Robin just can't think of his stage name but he was a solo artist I think.
My hubby played drums in a band a few years ago. He last backed Alan Day from Matlock.

Dave McPhie

Don't you mean Jock Macpie?
that's what we used to call him.  Kept the music shop at the end of Newbold Rod.
Used to manage Shape of the Rain and Harry Greibson String Band.

I remember him getting married in an all white suit.  I knew the girl he married too but can't for the life of me recall her name!

Ah that's his name... always got mixed up with Mcpherson.
If I'm right he was in the Daily Mirror, because he got married in All White.
Two of the Harry Greibson Band used to work at Donkins,  when I worked there. Can,t remember
their names Tho'
Also remember a Band called The Frank White Band playing a few times at the Vic

His (now ex) wife is called Geraldine, the last thing they did together was the Station Bookshop at Hassop.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Of course!  Thanks for that - I'd completely forgotten her name.  Interesting about the bookshop at Hassop.  I used to visit there a lot but never recognised her.

The station bookshop has changed quite a bit now and is more of a tea room.  I might start a new thread about decent places to visit for a cuppa  :-\
