I'll pass this info onto the forum as I want to see the response. The lass in question is about 21/22. Daughters 3?
Not at home again tonight.

The mum isn't as young as i thought she might be but still might have attracted something/someone due to previous actions.  I have to mention that everything i post is all guesswork, without actually checking the house it really could be anything.  We would never say anything is paranormal without being there.

Its a shame as the bell was a good hangout when the basement was open...it was very crowded but they played good music...its a sign of the times for chesterfield

I would advise a pair of pliers if you can't find one, or if you have a socket set i managed to find one that fitted the lock aswell

After he left, the council put new doors, kitchen and heating system in the house. Then it was totally decorated from top to bottom. Plenty of changes.
The first occupants after he left was a young couple with two young kids, they used to do nothing but argue. Perhaps they never heard him above themselves or he couldn't get a word in  :))
I think the new occupant is just using him as an excuse.

Then i would think it probably isn't the previous occupant.  Do you know roughly how old the mum is? It could be something that has been attracted to her or it could be someone she knew when they were here who is wanting to get a message to her.  We had an investigation recently where the ghost was someone who knew the householder in life and just wanted them to get their life sorted..it could be something like that.

Hi mate, glad your still around.
Why do you think he never bothered the first occupants, even though he had flitted and passed away in his new bought home.
Just for the record, the lass and her small young daughter are back in the house today.
Single mother, just wonder if something spooked her the once. ?

I would ask how they know it is the previous occupant thought

It could be something that spooked her the once.  The first occupants may not have made many changes.. Do you know if they have made lots of changes? it could also be that the first occupants just never mentioned it :)

Does our resident Ghostbuster still post? Looks right up his street

I am still around lol ;)

The problems that fly has described is a classic description of someone not knowing they have died or who loved a house where lots of changes are being made...I can describe it best by referencing a film 'the others' with nicole kidman.  If you haven't seen it, it is pretty much exactly the same as is being said above :)

Imagaine you are living quite happily in your home and all of a sudden these people come into your home and start to move things and move their own stuff in...You shout at them and tell them to stop but they don't seem to hear you...so you start trying to move things to get their attention...This could be one of those instances so its more or less a cry for help than anything else

;) Yes I am sure Alsatian knows I am only joking with him (but pleese don't tell him I said that  ;))

I used to work in woollies always lots of talk about the fire, first I knew of the soldier though and yes I suppose that could be right as Chesterfield had the Romans, I believe Newbold was the township then? Gosh it's a long time since I did Local History  :) old mind forgets more than it remembers  :)

Wasn't their a chappie years ago who looked into the woollies haunting I think he's passed away now wrote some books?
Amazing what can be picked up with the right equipment I suppose.
Does it ever bother you? I think most people are scared of the unknown aren't they if they are not involved in the posibility of another world as you are.

Anyone who has had unexplained things have I had must be interested so you probably have a good following.

Logic is always my first thoughts but we can't always explain some things can we. Didn't generally bother me much although just on the one occasion I was really scared, and I never did like the awful smell I got which meant the death was coming of someone I knew though.

Still trying to explain the lovely perfume I got last week, went round sniffing at things  :) happened three times in all, will never know but as my mum recently passed away it has crossed my mind it had something to do with that. Will never know and as I have said things like that don't happen very often these days (must have tuned out  :) )
Good luck with the hunting keep us informed on your findings.

I am not sure about the 'chappie' that looked into the haunting although there are alot of books around for chesterfield.  The original 2 are: Ghosts in and around chesterfield and the sequel more ghosts in and around chesterfield.  I am not sure if they can be bought anymore but they are in the reference part of the library :) the latest one is Haunted Chesterfield which has some more modern hauntings.

It never bothers me no as I have been ghost hunting for 7 years now and have seen things to put your hair on end lol.  one of the most haunted places is Eyre Chapel in Newbold.  We have around 5000 friends on facebook so there is some interest yes lol

The smell you had when death was coming is a common occurrence with different people experiencing different things.  When I was in Secondary school I arrived home one evening and my Mum sat my brother and I down and said to us "your grandad will die tonight" he was in hospital and had been for a while.  she knew this because she was busy doing some sweeping in our shed outside and a black shadow appeared in the shed and flew out the door.  It had no form to it and was essentially a black shape but my mum knew what it was.

The perfume could be a result of your mums passing as once they are on that side they do like to keep a check on us lol my Nana announces herself with a smell of cigarette smoke as she died from lung cancer and that was the smell we all associated with her.

We have had 3 different house clearances to do over the last few weeks and we have another one tonite.  They have all been various physical phenomena things moving and footsteps being heard.  the last one we attended was a lady who was stood in her kitchen talking on the phone and someone distinctly said to her "here" in a really rough voice...its all good fun lol

Ignore em C/G - nutters  ;)

The equipment used - is it easily bought or from specialist suppliers, I've always wondered as have sometimes watched things like that on TV. Bet it needs a lot of time a patience, my experiences have been unexpected, to be honest I have been told in the past to speak to the orbs and they may show themselves? Is this true cos it scared me silly, maybe that's why things have gone quiet.
Very interesting subject The old Woollies was always said to be haunted dating back from the projection fire in the cinema which was built there I think.

lol its all good fun :)

The equipment can be picked up for reasonable prices from ebay.  thats where we do all our shopping.  The old woolies was haunted by that and it is also the site of the Roman Fort that used to be here when we were known as Cestrefeld.  I have heard reports of a Roman Soldier being seen also :)

Well the same as you would see the teams on TV do :) so we go to a place that is reputedly haunted.  We have 3 mediums of which i am one so we get a feeling for the place see what we can pick up then we have cameras we can set up if needed along with various bits of equipment that we can utilise such as K2 meters laser thermometers to pick up temperature changes.  We do charity ghost hunts for the public aswell which is what the bluebell was going to be.  Due to members leaving us recently we don't have any of these planned but will be planning them in the future
