Is brexit causing shortages already?
« on: December 05, 2020, 04:59:44 PM »
Every year in the run up to christmas we usually treat ourselves to a few bootles of advocaat, we always get one bottle of Warninks and a couple of bottles of the cheaper end like Cooymans and home brand types, this year for a reason i cannot fathom the only advocaat available seems to be Warninks which can be pricey, i have tried all the local big name supermarkets and they all only have Warninks and Aldi and Lidl who usually have their home brand stuff have none at all, I wonder if this is a portent of things to come.

I love it!
Always used to buy a bottle at Christmas but haven't bought any for a good few years now.

If it's something you only do once a year then it may be that supermarkets stopped selling it some months ago.  I'm sorely missing my Noilly Prat dry vermouth, which all supermarkets stopped selling at the same time.  Except of course Waitrose, which is too posh for Chesterfield.
