They are opening on the old Peugot Main Dealer site on Sheffield Road opposite the top of Pottery Lane. The sign is up over the building so it  should be quite soon.

I worked in Chetwynd House  from 1973 to 1991 when I took early retirement.I spent all of that time in Personnel and  for the last seven years in OMAG.
When the Post Office split the job I was doing was in Parcels  and I was transferred to Parcelforce where I remained until I finished.

I agree with you Sorastro. My Dad gave 5 years of his live defending the  our country and the French during the second world war.For months on end my mum never knew  whether he was alive or dead Can you imagine what that must have been like?
To be held to ransom by him and the rest of his ilk i find it abhorrent.

The hatred that Macron  has for us is shown  with the  Brexit negotations  if it was my decision I would not give one euro.

Does anybody have the same problems as we do.Today between 10.00am and  14.00 hrs  we received 7 calls.I have given up picking up because most of them are part of this ringing lots of people system at the same time and quickly goes dead if you pick up.
I thought recent legislation had banned these pest firms but obviously not.

Sorastro,
I thought you were going to say that he took his shoes off and threw them into the bin and put your old ones on.

Some months ago I left some small batteries in  a plastic  bag  tied to my blue bin  for recycling. When the binmen  came  one of them ripped the bag off the bin and just threw them straight into the bin.I rang the council and told them and they said they should be handed to the driver.I left it at that.
Today when they came I had some glass bottles  which I duly left in the insert provide on the pavement next to my blue bin.One of them promptly tipped them into my bin and then they were tipped into the waggon with all the rest. There is a blue bin attached to the waggon which all glass should  go into.I rang the council and they confirmed i  had  acted correctly. She promised to inform her manager. JI am a avid recycler but it makes you wonder whether its worth it.

Chesterfield Discussion / Re: Horns Bridge Roundabout

Yesterday a  friend of mine was  two cars behind a learner on Hornsbridge  Roundabout coming  from Clay Cross waiting for the lights to change to green. When they did the learner stalled and before he got going the lights went to red. They changed to green and the same thing happened again. The diver behind the learner started  pipping furiously but suddenly the instructor got out of the car and remonstrated  with the driver and  gave him a right mouthful.
Good for him I say.
My grandson 17 last week had his first lesson on Saturday .one tomorrow and one  Thursday so  be careful.

I think that on the Horns Bridge Roundabout the biggest recipe for trouble is the road coming from the M1.There are many drivers who take the lane with the least number of cars in it wherever they are going. You have only got to watch them swapping lanes  as they approach it.Pure madness.

With regard to lane driving  on the M1 the other week I got on at J29 going south and this car was in lane 3 when it was not very busy.I built up was no doubt that it was on cruise control and was not going to move at any cost.Trouble is there are very motorway cars to apprehend people like that.
