It annoys me when the MLH is only doing 60-65. Just fast enough to overtake the lorries but not quick enough that you don't have to cross both lanes to overtake. You find yourself threatening to undertake which of course puts you in the wrong not them

To be fair I had the extra marital affair and to all intents walked out on them. This of course gave mum the opportunity to paint herself as the victim. Actually she also became far more of a mum to them than she had ever been when we were together so if daughters do need their mums maybe that was a good thing. We kept hoping that as they grew up and learnt more about the real world they might realise I wasn't the bad guy in this but the eldest is 22 tomorrow and her sister is 20 in November and there's been no sign so far. Like I say they are both happy and making their own way in the world so it's fine by me.

My two had mother doing a good poisoning job on them when we split up..I work on the theory that as long as they are happy, they know where I am if they eyed anything. Eldest's birthday tomorrow, I will stick a card through the door.

Same as Fly nothing from my own two but got cards from the step kids. It's my birthday on Friday so told them not to get me anything

Cllr Slack may correct me but I'm pretty sure the majority of council owned 'open spaces' in the borough (as opposed to formal parks like Queen's Park, Stand Road etc) have been designated as possible housing land which leaves the council free to sell them to a developer should the need arise. Doesn't mean it's ever going to happen and whilst there are other privately owned pieces of land like the rugby club and Saltergate being developed it's unnecessary.

Can't say I'm surprised. I don't think any of the 'big 4' will be opening many large supermarkets in the future unless a lot of the area is sub let a la T**** in chesterfield

The old pool was built deliberately not to competition standards so that it wasn't constantly blocked out by galas etc

Bringing  topic  down  a  bit  but  what  was  worse  than  the  shiny  toilet  paper  we  had,

As a colleague of mine and Slacker's used to say you need 3 lots. One for rough work, one for smooth and one for polishing!

Telmere is cheap and cheerful chips with everything standard level pub grub. It ain't fancy but neither are the prices. 3c's is more going towards the gastro pub end of the market.

It was the tactic we used 20 years ago in Hasland as part of the traffic calming measures. Two bus stops opposite each other, a bus at each, cars have to slow down or stop, speeds reduce, accidents reduce.
Well till somebody at DCC decided they knew better and put the lights in. Remind me how did that turn out?
