Tablet - it's going berserk!
« on: June 02, 2013, 04:58:39 PM »
Hubby didn't take his Tablet when we went on hols.
Since returning it's had times when he's not been able to get an internet connection.
At first we thought it was our WIFI as my pc was acting up as well - eventually we lost all internet connection and I had to call Talk Talk.
I won't go into that saga!  >:(
Eventually we were re-connected but both hubbies phone and tablet have times when although my pc is ok he can't get internet access.
Had lots of probs today with his tablet but I re-set it and eventually got a connection.
Once switched off I tried again - and no connection.

Next prob is (wait for it) I was trolling through his settings and saw a 'talk' setting for people who don't see very well
Thought it would be a good idea as hubby has a cataract on one eye
Can't get the flipping this off!!
Everything I touch this bloody woman speaks tell me what it is - but won't let me back into the tablet!
Not sure if the connection is something to do with what T/T did whilst getting it back on???
As for the speaking woman AAARRRRHGGGGGG.
It's currently on charge to see if it will clear it - it won't even let me switch it off?????
Any ideas?

Without actually having the tablet in my hands, It's very hard to answer your post. My tablet is so different to yours.

Unless you can give a bit more specific info, were stuck with google searches for answers cos I personally don't have one.
Any luck with this google search http://lmgtfy.com/?q=disable+talk+setting+tablet

Again, I'm not being smart with the 'lmgtfy' link. I'm sure you realise that. I just like its features  ;)

Unless there's loads of stuff on it you want to save or backup. Factory reset. Only option !

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Some of the suggestions are to pinch it with two fingers and tap at the same time ---- tap what for goodness sake!

probably end up in the dust bin before long.
Not sure why it won't work in the settings. I thought once I had got to them it was easy peasy --- not so!!

My wifes' tablet used to 'lose' the internet connection after 'waking up' - I changed the settings so that it doesn't disconnect from t'interweb whilst asleep and - so far so good! You could try that  :)

Ohhh thanks Alsatian I will look into that.
I 'think' I have managed to disabled the talkback - but it was a fight to the death!
My bro managed to get it to reset - but it didn't cancel out the talkback  :-? - Gremilns I fear.
Anyway fingers crossed I will be able to sort it completely later - after topping up the tan.  :)  8)
