Entertainment / Re: Chatsworth Road Festival

I've been down there the last few years but not much happening that I saw.

I probably shan't bother this year - but then I can't say its not got better.

It started about the time they were saying it was our answer to Sheffield's Eccleshall Road.

There are many good shops and businesses there, but none appealed to me when I went, although Teresa Lambarellis shops are nice.

A couple of shops I did like have both gone recently, the Oriental Rug Shop and a gift/craft shop over the road near the Chip shop - had a connection to a potter - their daughter I think.

I'm afraid Simon Debell is a bit of a "prophet of doom".

I really like Facebook, but then, I have no problem blocking folks that piss me off. I've got some nice old pics from there and a few of my "friends" are actually friends.

Love it!

I would also add that newspapers are crap, incredibly biased, and most of them rely on scare stories, sex and outright lies to sell their rubbish papers. The sooner they all go the way of NOTW the better. Especially the Mail and the Sun.

Jeremy Corbyn’s new shadow cabinet is older and more rebellious than its predecessor – and women now make up the majority of its members.

In total, 16 out of 31 ministers (52%) on Corbyn’s frontbench team are women. This compares with 33% in David Cameron’s current cabinet and 47% in the shadow cabinet that Harriet Harman was leading until last week.

Not sure where you're getting your information from OC. Have you been reading the Daily Mail?  ;)

>> it's not going down very well

With 60% of the vote? I'd call that doing very well. The Blairite candidate only got 5%...

Personally I like him very much, but do not expect him to do well as the media have got it in for him big style. If he saved a child from drowning the media wouldn't mention it. If he farted walking down the street, he'd be headline news.

He has chosen to take on all the injustice in this country - and that's a lot. His enemies are the most powerful men in this country, the ones that make billions but pay no tax - they'll go after him like hounds after a fox. Poor bugger.

Anyway, good luck to him, I say and good luck to his deputy Tom Watson. Different guys, different views, but both putting people before profit.

TBH its a tricky one. If the taxi is going in a certain direction and a fare wants to go a different way, I can imagine why the taxi driver did it. It would a different matter with more cars around and them all going faster.
