If the food thrown away can be classed as 'condemned' is there not a chance they can claim on their insurance?
Maybe JR could answer it

Hubby went to help a chap delivering bread in his van to a local shop last year, armed with snow shovel hubby did a stint then the driver took over - covering hubby with snow!!
Not impressed hubby took his shovel off the driver and came back in doors  :))

Just as a by the way I have read that the mini Tornado they had in Shirebrook over the weekend is said to be followed by snow for Derbyshire this coming weekend - not sure how much though.

All part of the money saving budget is of course the council tax rise of maybe 1.99%

The D.T reports that the meeting to agree this increase may now be held up as the council are still waiting for gov guidence to determine whether a referendum will be needed before this increase can be done.

If the decision triggered a referendum it would cost £1 million which Ann Western says would be wasting money

Scimitar I know what you mean, slightly different circumstances but I have a state pension, hubby won't get his until 2015.The work we did from home stopped when I fell and injured my back ( still do a bit but not as much ) moving and handling wasn't possible.
So we live off my pension and our savings, which are rapidly depleting.
All the bills have increased but wages/pensions haven't gone up that much.

In the DT this week it is reported that their has been a growing number of food thefts from shops.
Little wonder is it.
Even the most honorable and decent people may well resort to this if not eating.
No one should be put into this position!  >:(

Stuart is that the 'only' legal requirements of the Landlords then or does your daughter ( like the Benefits Streets ) have a landlord who knows how to get away with it or just drags their heels.

That is a terrible situation for you all and how disappointing for your daughter to have to move back home after venturing out to independance

Back on Topic

I actually felt sorry for the young man who was made to go out and find work - don't get me wrong I'm sure there is some work out their for him, but does anyone else get the impression he may have mild learning difficulties?
What he needs (IMO) is a designated person who can support and link him up with a type of work he can do. This of course all costs money.
I just think it's unfair.
After he had eventually been given their food bank parcels he was like a child on Christmas morning.

Probably once they were in they were needed too much Stuart. Six years is an awful lot wouldn't one think they would have known?

My grandfathers story with pictures is in this weeks Derbyshire Times.

Aren't they now going to bring a law in to stop the ecig being sold to under a certain age.

Having never smoked I have always invited smokers to go outside.

To be fair I hadn't realised it was there til I went to take pics of how the outside of the Market Hall has been improved

mmmm well if it is I will kiss your little whiskers for showing it to me  ;D

I'm trying to see if it is Radar key access like the old one, it could be looking at the door.
